Think about it, the AWD system works the same, adjustable to up to 90% rear power and up to 50% front power. Also, under acceleration it shifts the power to the rear, same as the skyline. It's a turbo, front engine car, all wheel drive car, stock makes about 300hp. How is that not as close as any car sold in the U.S. has been to the Skyline?

Im no expert but I think the Skyline has a much more advance AWD system tuned for race tracks and not rally, according to a car nut friend of mine. He is from Singapore and they get alot of JDM cars and stuff. I think the R34 Skyline posted 278 horses from the factory but that was a fat lie. Nissan on purposely de-tuned the car at the exhaust with narrow pipes to keep with the gentlemen's agreement. I think all the R34 needed was larger pipes and it would put out closer to 340 hp.

Inline 6 vs a boxter 4. 8-P
I'll take an Inline 6 anyday.

I do realize it's underated from the factory thats why I said they're both 300hp, (might be closer to 320 at the flywheel on the RB26 not really sure).

What car were you planning on getting with that inline 6, a bimmer? I'd go with the turbo boxer (not boxter, although I did have a subaru dealer tell me it was a boxster engine in wrx, ) Also I didn't say it was the american VSpec, VSpecII, VSpec II Nur, or MSpec. Displacement on a GT-R and on an STi are almost the same, extra weight for the extra cylinders on the GT-R though, and the GT-S is the same displacement, but not AWD.

I seen a stock dyno at 297.3whp for the skyline r33 .august 2003 turbo mag.they gained 41.9 whp from exaust ,intake and downpipe 339.2 whp
The american sti has a 65/35 split.

Lets see BMW M3 has a sick inline six, Toyota Supra TT (2JZ-GTE), and the Skyline to name a few. Everything I have ever read about engines, balance, power, and over all performance the inline six wins. It’s just my opinion but boxer engines have no where near the same quality and durability as an inline six.

Just wondering about the turbo. I currently have an AEM Cold AIr Intake and people are telling me I have to take it out when I have the GReddy Turbo installed. Is this needed or can I keep my intake. If this is needed, is it only for the AEM or all intakes? Thanks.

all the turbo kits will problably come with there own intake. the greddy kit comes with 2 airnex filters that go to the turbos so yes your cai will have to be removed. the only FI kit that i know you could use the cai is the stillen sc (which gives problems because the metal heats the air even more and you will get a ping). so if your going to get a turbo i would find a buyer for you aem

There is no reason whatsoever to put a cold air intake on a turbo. While physically possible to pipe the filter low, there is no reason to not just have the filters in a stock or similar position. All air anywhere in the world at the same pressure will be the same temperature. If the air starts out cold it is fairly dense, so the turbo works marginally and imperceptibly more easily, because it has to do less work to get the air to the same pressure, and hence the same temperature.

PV=nRT

pressure (P) multiplied by volume (V) equals the number of moles (n) times the ratio of .0821 (R) times the temperature (T).

Can I still keep the stock intake or does that also come out?

I want to add a plenum like maybe a ....Crawford Plenum. Can I do this with a turbo or is it not possible.

I don't know if its such a good idea that you start boosting knowing the amount that you do about cars. I wouldn't reccomend a turbo set up unless you think you could probablly install it yourself, even if you would rather have a shop do it. But then again, I also wouldn't have reccomended for you to buy a Z.

If you even go so far as howstuffworks.com and find out what a turbo is, that'll answer your question.

But if you must know without any effort, no you can't keep the stock intake (a turbocharger is an intake), yes you can probablly use the crawford plenum. Some turbo kits come with plenum that are stronger than stock, particularlly on cars that come with plastic intake manifolds. I don't know if the GReddy one does or not, but in the pictures they have a stock-look-polished one, so I'm not going to make any calls on their part, but I doubt they supply their own.

Also, don't buy any headers if you plan on buying the turbo kit, especially not after, because the shop will laugh at you for days.

Other items I wouldn't reccomend: high compression pistons, thinner headgaskets, or a wider crank.

Maybe you missed it but we were talking about USDM cars firstly, and new cars secondly. The M3 is neither AWD nor turbocharged.
