HKS head gaskets...good ? / bad ?

I havent read all of the GTM thread , but in skimming through the crap . I have noticed people saying the HKS gaskets maybe at fault and are failing . Is this with sleeved motors only ? Or is the gaskets proving to be bad in all applications ?
I have the HKS gaskets trq.ed to 90lb's

hks HG are waste of $. not sure about the cause of failure, but why bother when stockers are more than sufficient? i was quoted 1k for these and was strongly recommended.

You were quoted $1K for HKS HG's?? They are about $300.
Booger, to answer your question, I havent seen or heard of a failure with the HKS gasket on an unsleeved block, and good studs (90+lb/ft). We have been using HKS, PE, and stock gaskets....all no failures so far.

We have used plenty of HKS gaskets in conjunction with L19 head studs with no failures thus far, sleeved and unsleeved. I can also say the same for Cometic.
While others may feel the oem head gasket is enough, I personally do not feel comfortable taking the chance with it on a high horsepower build (considering the cost of replacement if they do not hold up to the test of time...). Same would go for stock head bolts. These are items I would want to test on in-house motors thoroughly and rack up many miles before suggesting them to our customers.

What are your experiences with the method that Jim Wolf employs?
(using OEM HR Head gaskets and HR head bolts on DE motors)

What is the consensus on ARP Head Studs needing to be re-torqued after X-amount of miles?(just trying to dismiss what is myth and what is truth)

There are some people testing the HR head studs and head gaskets for certain build applications. The limit is unknown as far as I know. They will be more budget oriented for those looking for the 500-550 whp mark. Over that is where the questions have been raised.

If the HKS Head Gasket is just using better material but still the same design as the DE head gaskets wouldn't it still be flawed as far as its design.

Absolutely love the videos you guys make.
Probably have 30+ dyno pulls, and 10 or so passes on the car. i've also driven the car a few hundred miles on the street. Lot's more to put on it 
Now the same setup on Tom's G35 we built, he's go about 4k miles on it

I'm glad and reassured to hear this, since my build includes HKS head gaskets and L19 head studs.
I have the HKS (unsleeved) and L19's on my SP motor (as Chris mentioned)
see's 15psi on pump regularly, and 25psi on good gas (a bunch), and 30psi once in a while....gotta make sure the turbos still get there right
4K miles on the build.

While its true no one is having issues then why are people doing the pathfinder cooling mod and bigger radiator if not cause of cooling issues. If a head gasket can contribute just like those mods to the cooling effect needed for the motor it should be seriously considered.
