Hey Doc. You ROCK man!!! You ROCK!!
Drive safe....and start a new thread with the video so we don't have to dig in the belly of this original one to see it.
~400 horses !!!!! Your Z's practically on the same level with the BMW V-8 GTR M3!!!

I have uploaded a couple of videos to Jeremy and he is going to host them. I'll put links to them here and in another thread to make it easy.
To be honest, I haven't had a chance to really use the gauge yet. I was in the hospital most of the day fixing a broken hip and making rounds and doing consultations.
I have to read on how to make the gauges store the Max. levels. It has to do with hitting the buttons in a certain way. Alone, it would be tough to drive and look at the guages at the same time. I'd need a passenger to help.

Autometer won't fabricate anything for us, a few of us asked them and they said they don't have any plans. I'm working with a local company to get a gauge pod made for us, just waiting on the pillars and then they will be sent off to them to be made, soon I hope.

The smaller the gear... the higher the numbers you will have.
Had you run this in 5th gear your totals would have been lower, then with correction you would have been around the 350rwhp marker.
Which Paul hit locally and we need no correction for altitude around here.

Looking forward to the vids. Btw, AAM's dyno routinely dynos low, so expect at least whatever their dyno numbers show.
Also, to whomever was asking, you dyno in whatever gear is closest to 1:1 ratio. Dunno what gear that is in the 350Z, but most cars it's 3rd or 4th. If it's 5th that's one hell of a weird ratio.

Most shops dyno 5 speeds in 4th... I think more so out of habit.
The whole safety thing I doubt.. given the boost and size of some of AAM's own cars.. Dr Bonz's lil 350+hp isn't too scarey
7psi of boost spinning up is nothing compared to 15+psi kicking in.. thats when it looks like the cars are going to leap off the dyno
I'm a little disappointed they dyno'd like that.. no matter.. I'll see more on Saturday and ask then
Congrats Doc!
What about the butt Dyno? Can you feel the difference? Is it a huge difference? all the time? only at WOT? etc.
Is it harder to launch? more wheel spin? etc.
Thanks and have fun!

what type of dyno is that? that's the second dyno i've seen like that which correlates speed with hp - seems odd.
how come it's not a dyno that has torque and hp, and it should be related to engine rpm - not speed.
i guess i'm used to seeing the stillen dyno's and the like which have hp/torque curves relating to engine rpm.
does anyone know if one is more accurate than the other?
how do you know what the torque was, there is no chart?

I have to do a correction for boost with this guage. Its in kg/sq cm instead of lbs/sq. in. Any really smart engineer types want to do the math on this?
The cost might be different for others since Mike at AA gave me a special deal since I was one of the first installs he has done on a 350z (other than his own).
On average, this kit will run around 5K with about 7-8 hundred for install, approx $350 for the two gauges and another couple hundred to install those. Having the rev limiter raised to 7100 RPM ($?), 6 new "colder" spark plugs plus $ to install those. Then to dyno tune the car (several pulls on the dyno obviously) $?
Like I said, this is what I had done but there was a lot of no charge stuff included in this special deal. For more details I'd suggest you call and talk to Mike at Altered Atmosphere.
301-330-8835 or MikeM@alteredatmosphere.com
As for the AA dyno, it is one of very few AWD dynos around. Mike's specialty is AWD Stealths/3000GTs. In fact he was having a dyno day for them when I picked up the car. I don't know if that has anything to do with my readings???
Finally, the Butt dyno is definitely feelin' it! It feels fast up to about 4000 Rpms and after that it THROWS you back in the seat. It is really really fast.
