Default APS Tall Boy Plenum (See Inside)

Here's the deal. APS has discontinued the world famous Tall Boy Plenum. However they have offered to make a batch run of them for us, the catch is we are talking about hundreds of plenums in order to make this happen. I need to get a little feed back and see how many people are SERIOUSLY considering the Tall Boy plenum and how many of you would be in line to order one. Pricing should be about the same as they are now, potentially a little cheaper, however we would be looking at 2+ months to get them.

If you are in the market for an APS Tall Boy Plenum post here and let me know so that I can get an idea of whether or not buying 200 plenums is a viable option.

I probably wouldnt risk it, as most everyone is in love with spacers. I personally like the aps/crawford solution tho.

Yes, please. I think as more people go F/I, more people will want one. I have a spacer currently and don't like it, want the tallboy....but only if I can also get the strut bar for it as well.

Thanks for the input guys. We're still moving forward with this and will be trying to get a quote and an estimated time frame from APS. I hope to have new info soon.

As for the strut brace, no problem there, APS still has them in stock in Australia so we'll be able to get them with no problems.

Cool. Hopefully we can get enough interest in them to get APS to produce another batch.

- WOW tell us how you really feel.

I have dealt with Bryan several times and I have had the exact opposite experience (I don't think that makes me a nuthugger).

I think most people who have dealt with us feel the same way you do. I don't know the details of his transaction and since I wasn't involved in it I'm not going to comment on it, but we do try to keep our customers happy.

werd, they proved to provide more cost effective power and allow more flexibility with strut bars, thats why spacers sell more....but it doesnt mena aps tall boy or crawford are bad at all... to each their own

tyler which one you have the aps or crawford btw? i dunno if anybody has taken the crawford plenum to see if it can handle when you push 30 psi

I know my Crawford couldn't handle 12psi and a 75 shot...I'll try to find a pic.

I got a crawford. Mine has held 19psi no prob. I would bet yours was due to a nitrous backfire or bad tuning.

That Crawford was on my stock motor when it went(rods) and more than likely a N20 backfire. I have another Crawford on now and we'll see what happens tomorrow at the strip.

High cost of tooling primarily. APS was using a foundry in Australia to cast their plenums and the foundry made a change in their processes, which would ultimately result in a much stronger part FWIW, but due to the changes all of the tooling for the plenums would have to be redone. They felt like it was too late in the product life cycle to pay to have the retooling done so they discontinued the product and left it up to us to make a decision if we want to revive it. Essentially if we have them made we'll be paying the retooling costs, thus needing such a high quantity order to make it worthwhile.
