Default FI and MPG

anybody feel a decline in MPG after awhile? I used to get around 19+mpg at first and now it's around 16-17.

I get 16 in the city while driving spiritedly and still do consistently. Anybody read "The Best Fuel Saving Act" on pg. 97 of the Jan. 09 Car and Driver? There is a pretty cool write up on how to treat your fuel system for better mileage.

this willl be the same as the numerous other FI and mpg threads. [search]

some will say 11-15 mpg and others will say they get 28 mpg.

whatever. You are 1.5 to yyy times the power over stock, so your mpg is going to take a hit. If you were worried about mpg, you wouldnt have gone FI on a NA car.

I think it all depends on turbo size and driving habbits, I know my meter isnt working right, due to larger injectors. but it still takes the same amount of time I usually fill up around a week and a day or more.

It all depends on how you drive and how the car is tuned. A 500hp turbo Z can get just as good mileage or better as a stock Z if driven normal (out of boost) and tuned properly. That being said, I scheduled a tuning appointment yesterday for a guy who had his Z tuned and everything is great except it idles/cruises in the 11-12:1 AFR range, which is killing his mileage and smelling like fuel.

In all fairness, she has been in the car through some "situations" LOL, she doesnt 100% trust me behind the wheel !

She has driven my car as it sits, I should make a video of that, she makes the funniest face when boost hits and she gets thrown into the seat. Seeing guys in other mod'd cars make faces after a double take when they see her driving is priceless...

normal driving on highway no-boost bout 26-29mpg (but its hard to be in no boost, get bored and quick spooling turbos)

When in boost it goes down down down lol....as low as 6mpg on 30psi lol. (runnin a little rich FTW).....At the track last time...on 25psi of boost made 6 passes down 1/4, drove home bout 85miles and was OUT of gas....on 8 gallons lol.

idle should be at 14.7 to 15.1 same as cruise. stock cars idle with those numbers

Nomyth, like wannabuy350z just said, high 14's. 11:1 is grossly over-fueled for cruising/idle.
