Default Carbonetic Throwout Bearing Replacement

Do any of the installers know if the Carbonetic triple carbon clutch uses a Nissan OEM throwout bearing?

Yeah!

I got a call back from Carbonetic... incase anyone is interested the clutch does not take the original throwout bearing! It uses Nissan part# 30502-14601.

Of course it doesn't take the original part That would be too easy and take all the fun out of this.

The rest of us learn through your misfortune. Someone had to step up since Alberto stopped breaking things on a regular basis. Try and keep a positive attitude brother.

At least JETPILOT is breaking small things. So far, with a little over a 1000 miles, I have managed to fry a $1500 clutch, fry an F-CON, and I haven't even identified my ticking noise yet.

Hahaha.... you haven't been around long enough. You're just a newb! I'm on my 4th Carbonetics clutch, second turbo kit, second built motor, and second transmission.

Yeah.... that's like $10,000 in clutches! I'm bound to break something at Sebring on Saturday as well. Keep working!

FOUR Carbonetics clutches!!!!! Does not sound like the carbonetics clutch is all that reliable. I've never had my Z run long enough to break much of anything yet (other than a head gasket, grrrr).

First was a single and was gone in 10 days with my Turbonetics kit wth 400WHP. Just bought the wrong clutch even though they told me it would hold. Second one I had a cracked carbon clutch plate. Third Sharif pulled from my car and said was no good and I am using for parts now. 4th is in their now. I'm going to remove it tomorrow and have a look at it when I take out the throwout bearing.

If you started with a Triple disc, you would still be on your first clutch. They don't crack unless someone is a little "rough" when installing them. The Triple in mine is the original one I have had forever.

I have had gone through two TO bearings in 3 years, however, becuase of all the tracking/racing.

We order replacements from Carbonetic. New sleeve and bearing is about 100 dollars. It's not an OEM part.

My tranny will be removed tomorrow hopefully. I have an issue with what I feel is my clutch. Clutch pushed to the floor I get an intermittant grinding, as I release it, it continues to grind. Then it feels bad and it makes me grind 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. It happens once about every ten stops.

I haven't abused this transmission much, never powershifted it, I hope its not that, seeing as I'm on my 4th already.

Jet-thanks for posting the info I will likely replace the TO bearing while its accessible.

Any other choices for 600-800whp levels? Fawk my life...

The throwout bearing is a Nssan part. The number is as follows:

Nissan Part # 30502-14601

Alberto.... My throwout bearing made a horrendous grinding noise. So it may be the same thing.
