slowly doing a winter/spring build on my car... many of you have seen my greddy kit for sale... time to go big.
curious if anyone has demolished the stock sleeves yet? i talk to a lot of people and shops, and havent heard of it yet. except one case, i recall someone with a drag Z several years ago said they eventually took out the sleeves around 1500hp IIRC... maybe ill give them a call today and verify that.

IIRC Intense has a G that dyno'd 900+whp on stock sleeves. I do not know how often or how hard it is run at that power level though. You know how these things are, everybody makes claims not many follow up. That is not directed at Intense, just throwing it out there.
Yea intense was at 906hp on stock sleeves.
Charlie, Intense is Number one as of now at 90Xrwhp.
Somehow I am in the top 5'ish I believe for non-sleeved lol.
I think the car for Vinny tien's shop made a touch more than me (77x or 78x). Mike's (XKR) sig show 8XX but he won't release numbers till after ZdayZ.
If I leave my car at SP for longer than a day I think Larry will find more power in mine lol (like let the timing go above 14 degrees....yea thats all the timing in mine right now lol)

We do hold the record... the vehicle is above the 906WHP marker now we were just slipping the clutch at that power. Stock sleeves holding just fine... car is driven all the time on the street no issues.
Need any help with building a stock sleeve monster let us know.

intense: i appreciate the reply.
which headgaskets and studs are you using on that car? nice work BTW. i am figuring on staying HKS HG since they have done me very well on my last build... and probably oversized headstuds again (currently running the 1/2 studs at 95#s and no issues). did you do anything unique like o-ringing?

Charles,
For many many many dyno pulls and 1/4 mile runs, we were still on the stock head gaskets. At some point they were changed out in favor of HKS. We've always ran the standard ARP head studs though. L19s are great too!

I don't think any motor has had any long-term success being o-ring. Always seem to be lots of issues in the long run.

This is precisely why I didn't store my G at the shop for the winter lol
We shall see soon enough I guess (or I'm told lol)

Man, when we made the 906 it was in the middle of the summer. I think the temp INSIDE our bay was 105 or something stoopid like that.
D(waiting for someone to ask "what's 105 degrees"?)

This is like the crap-capital all the world for weather at the extremes...but those months of 50-80 are soooooo nice.....

Ya the 2 weeks inbetween ice tundra and the flesh melting sauna are pretty comfortable in Chicago... If you ever saw the movie "the day after tomorrow", the entire story is inspired by Chicago weather
