Who has done this and what level of disappointment should I be setting myself up for?

oh BTW, what I'm removing in a V-3 Vortech Supercharger setup with the stock 3.12 pulley.

 

We do not speak of such things here. The ONLY reason to go back to N/A is to part out for trade-in.

FI is great when it works... But on cars that didn't come that way from the factory, it does tend to break things - alot. Constant repairs & rebuilds will nickle and dime you, and add up to big $$$.

 

LOL-you cant build a broader powerband than what the built TT guys run. 500+ft/lbs from 3500rpm's - redline.

I did that for 3 months. I originally had a single turbo setup. Then boost addiction bit me hard in da @$$, so I upgraded to built motor + twin turbo setup. In between the upgrade, I sold my single turbo and drove NA for 3 months while I was gathering the parts and the motor was getting built. Boy was I depressed for 3 MONTHS!!!! When got the NA Z back and did a WOT run, car felt like a 4 cylinder hyundai accent... SERIOUSLY! It was the strangest feeling EVA! Never doin' that again!

Unfortunately for me I drive my car for what it was built for. More than 95% of the posers in these forums can say

 

^^LOL. You do drive you car! That shakedown vid is priceless. I would think all those track day fees you have so you can properly drive your cars would easily surpass the cost of rebuilds.

 

I havent been to the dragstrip in over 1 yr man.

Most of my track days were when I was 16/17yrs old. After you learn to drive it only takes a few passes to set some bars

Ya around here theres no way you could properly drive a 500 + whp car unless you were on VIR. Thats why I assumed you must road course alot

 

Unless it's a different car, I wouldn't do it. I went from a FI 350z to an NA2 NSX... no complaints.
