if you problem is the same as mine which i think it is, the starter bolts are loose. my starter got torqued down to much and it stripped the threads. it eventually vibrated loose enough to where the starter wasnt sitting flush as it should be. i still need to get mine re threaded but just to make sure it started i put a crush washer on the bolt and a nut at the end of the bolt. you can't put a nut on the top bolt of the starter because it won't fit, no room. gl with fixing yours

Not looking good for ICS thus far. I'll be posting a full review tomorrow afternoon once a few "issues" get taken care of.

Spoke to the mechanic today and he talked me into going with the OEM starter.
It's more expensive, but whatever. A little peace of mind wouldn't hurt right about now, especially with HIN right around the corner. No way I'm paying $400 though. |
i would say : " Laser eyes effect "

I'll be at the Showtime Autosports & Boosted Graphics booth. Make sure you stop by, as a little bird told me something about Volks being raffled off. ;)

Looks like the starting issue was the starter itself. After going to town with the heat wrap, it was installed and worked perfectly.

how about the boost issue?
|
The boost issue still exists and the car still shuts off randomly.
I drove it around yesterday and could hear the turbos spooling this time, but there's definitely a boost leak. They're in the middle of fixing it right now. |
I should have the car back today. We'll see how it goes, as there's still many things to do before tomorrow.
|
how much did the starter run you? and where from?

no surprise there.. but i don't blame you... you had no other option.. people think i'm joking when i tell them i drove all the way to NJ to MRC because CT had on good shops.. and once again time and time again they prove that fact..

It was a coupler that came off. Problem is that it was at a very hard place to reach and took two hours to fix. I think he said somewhere behind the power steering lines.
Pfff... I wish MRC still existed. well the good thing is you're back on the road and boosting |

MRC isn't around, but Matt is still doing work on the Z's late at night at Perry's Automotive.
