Default should I Turbo or Supercharge?

Hi Guys,

My name is Dave I'm new to the site, I was recommended this site by a friend from the states.

I have just bought a 350z on a 2006 plate, I am stuck with what to do to the engine which is totally stock, I'm wanting to put rather a turbo kit or sc kit and wondered if you guys could advise me which would be best and any problems there might be with either of them.

The turbo kit I have been thinking about is the Greddy twin turbo with the 2x TD06SH-20G. the sc kits I have looked at are the ATI ProCharger and the HKS Rotrex Supercharger Kit.

I know my friend bought one from here so thought this would be the best place to ask .

Dave

welcome Dave ..

i say go for turbos.

more power, more room for upgrade in the future.

the TD06 20G turbos are good for 700whp and maybe more.

the other supercharg kits have the same power levels. its fun to drive the car with a SC but when it comes to power, it never feels like a twinturbo setup.

one of the important things that u didnt tell us is what are your horespower goals ?

Another 1 post thread starter. AWESOME

Please take a moment and read some of the sticky threads at the top of the F/I main page. There is a lot of helpful info in there.

Factors to consider are these IMO:

HP Goal
Budget
Which is greater value to you, performance or reliablity
Where are you able to get a tune (Envy Performance?)

These four decisions should help you narrow down your options and choose the best path. There is no "best" or "right" kit, each person has their own goals in mind, so every build is a bit different.

Making these cars F/I is not to be taken lightly and failure to do homework on everything that is involved can really end up hurting your wallet and your feelings down the road. Do some research and come back with a budget an supposed mod list and people will be more than happy to offer advice.

Hi Dave, there are a few sites in the UK like NissanSportz.com where you can find a bit more info and talk to a few of the guys that have had experience over here. Its not just about the kit but also about who tunes it. Up in Newcastle its worth talking to Kevin Huntley at Envy Performance as he may be able to point you in the direction of a trusted tuner. On NissanSportz.com you also have zmanalex from up in scotland that has a pretty healthy Zed....

The ATI procharger is an awesome kit. Good power and easy to install.....until a year later when I got bored of the low torque and went twin turbo.
