Default Gt4294r g35

Saw this over on G35 driver. Hhhhmmmmm guy says turbo is a GT4294R and full boost comes on at 6500rpm. Seems like a waste to me.

Interesting... not sure why his setup is so laggy. I have the bigger GT4202R with 1.01ar on my 3.5L 350Z and spool well before that. Beautiful exterior though - or at least those shots look really nice! Wish he had better engine shots of the setup.

I'm not sure why this G35's turbo lags as much as they're are saying. And his is ballbearing judging by the photo.I run a journal bearing T51R SPL which equates to about a GT4202 Garrett and spool is not as bad as this G35.I agree with Hal on this one.

I only have a couple photos that I took of the car in general. As far as information goes, there is a lot customizing and research I had to do.Still have a little more to go.Some people like twins and some like singles. For me, I like the explosive power of a single turbo, plus ease of maintenance, installation etc...Pm me for info if you want..

Full boost a 6500? That's horrid. Silent nite, when does your T51R hit full boost and how much are your running? Seem's almost pointless to run a 42R with that little power. Why not just run the PL 35R? I'm sure those can easily handle the 500whp or so he's putting down now. (unable to see G35 site so I don't know the whole build or hopes for power levels)

That's horrible for spoolup. I get 40psi on my 2.0L DSM with a GT4202R before 6500.

I'd hate to have a powerband with full boost at 6500RPM, but if given the choice... I'd keep my *****.

Why did he use such a big turbo for only 500hp... Doesn't the PL 35r supports up to 655hp and 700+ for the 37r??

Yes. One would hope that 500whp is intended to be his low boost setting. Otherwise, that turbo is way overkill for 500whp.
