I did a search on here but couldn't find anything on this code. I got P0024 which is "B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 2)" .

Any ideas what this may be? I was thinking maybe a bad cam sensor, but I read that usually with a bad cam sensor the car doesn't start. I was going to try replacing the cam sensor to see it gets rid of the code. My car starts and drives just the way it did before the code. Any input would before I drop it off at the shop.

The code can be triggered by bad data from crankshaft position and camshaft position sensors. Check both. Also can stem from the intake valve control solenoid. For automatics, I've seen the code pop up on vehicles with warped drive/flex plate (although this often causes the car to act crazy).

 

I am going to see when my girlfriends dad whom is a good mechanic can look at it. My car is a 07 6mt gran touring and it is running just fine. He is going to reset it first and see what happens. I will post again with what had to be fixed for the light to go away.

 

How did you reset the code? In my experience, some codes can only be reset by actually doing a battery disconnect. For example, every time I get an 02 sensor error or lean bank 1 or 2 error it keep coming back every time I reset it using my ODB2 reader. Once I do a battery disconnects then problem never come back until next winter.

 

I am dropping my car off on the weekend to have it looked at.

may be the intake solenoid the screen may have come apart

 

its either CVVT Control Solenoid (easy) or it could be the actual camshaft actuators
