APS TT Questions
I'm looking to buy a Z. I would like to put in a APS Twin Turbo kit in it, but the thing is that I heard on a 'Stock' 350z engine it can only handle the 'Turbo kit' on 8 PSI but I am looking to run at least 12 - 14 PSI on it. Also I don't want my engine to blow.
Basically what I want to know is:
- If I run it with 12 - 14 PSI will it blow? And if so what would be the best solution to stop this?

Spend some time and search this topic. IMO...... 8-10psi. Any more on the stock block and you'll be looking at a rebuild in your near future. Not to say others have boosted more with little issues, but its just a general rule of thumb. If you wanna run 12-14psi......you gotta pay to play, simple as that. Good Luck

Get a built short block - Balanced - and any compbination of Wiseco, Arias or CP pistons and Eagle, Carillo, Pauter or GTM rods.
Last, but not least, spend time SEARCHING and LEARNING. The Search feature in this forum is very useful. Search the Forced Induction section of the forum. Find threads on other builds and learn from their experiences. The answers to most, if not all, of your questions are already contained in the myriad of threads herein.

Build and boost if you want to run at that psi level. Have 20-30k handy, and an extra 10-15k just in case something blows up. Don't forget to get an oil cooler, it saves lives!

Good news, bad news here. If you get the journal bearing APS TT Tuner kit, you probably can't make enough hp to blow the stock block anyway. 8-9psi is the max I would run on a DE block, and even that doesn't gaurantee longevity. To run the psi you stated you will need to build the block and have many supporting mods as abui01 said, the cost goes up dramatically at that point.
Stock block power is plenty fast, ~400whp, you may feel that is enough if your budget is limited.

I run 15-16 psi on my APS TT'd car and if I had it to do all over again, I would run the measily 8 psi on a stock motor and call it a day.
If you want a shop in the chicago area, call Irshad @ GRD. They are the shop to go to for APS parts and installs

I belive he is Utec friendly. Sounds like this may be your WIN. Good luck.
WOW, how to you cure that? Sounds like its time to take some flying lessons or start jumping out of planes for a rush.
I don't find my 15+ psi as exciting as I did a yr or two ago. Doesn't matter the power level; at some point it will become .... I hate to say... boring

first off, how do you know 8 psi isn't enough for you? That said, how do you know 12-14 will be enough?

set a power goal and then go from there.....
The basics are the same for any internal combustion engine..... when you learn that come back and search this forum and start threads....
Happy modding!!!!

The APS turbos are ball bearing aren't they? I was also under the impression they were good for around 500 ponies.
