Default So....how wants to make some serious single turbo power

I know there's a lot of single turbo options including the Turbonetics, Powerlab, and APS kits but there's a new option for all those kits. Turbonetics just announced some new turbos that will easily fit in the 350Z engine bay to make serious power. RedHotZ made like 500+ with the out of the base Turbonetis kit but the new turbos are basically all the really big compressor wheels in a smaller housing set up for some serious power. Below is the description and some pics. These are all the high power T Series wheels with ported compressor shrouds and 60 series compressor covers for massive power with small size. They call them the Hurricane series.
They are 66, 72, and 78 mm compressors in a 60 series(Turbonetics single turbo kit size) compressor covers and up to the biggest T4 turbine in T3 turbine housings. In other words up to 900 HP+ power potential in a Turbonetics Single turbo kit sized turbo

Official description:

This family of turbochargers was developed with our customers through real world dyno and racetrack testing. Today's engines and tuners continue to push the limits of forced induction performance to heights never before thought possible. Taking aggressive approaches to compressor wheel and housing combinations and then thoroughly testing the aerodynamic results gave rise to the Hurricane Series.

Held in secret for a long time by our customers who knew the power potential of this line of turbos, the Hurricane Series capitalizes on having compact dimensions while still being able to quickly build and maintain boost pressures across the rpm band. Easily selected based on horsepower goals to choose the unit right for you.

Perfect for smaller displacement engine applications that need to run high boost pressures and other vehicle applications that require smaller turbocharger compressor housings due to engine bay packaging constraints, the Hurricane Series delivers exceptional spool-up and boost response with the optional Turbonetics patented Ceramic Ball Bearing (CBB) and high pressure compressor housing combination.

Me too. I know for a long time a lot of people wanted to make twin power with a single. These turbos basically take the biggest compressor and turbine wheels and stuff them into the same housings used on the Turbonetics 350Z kit. That's like 1000 HP of turbo in a 650 HP size..

i hope its a kit redesign. because the problem with these werent the turbos and the power they made. the problem was the design and layout of the kit

Turbonetics is only selling CARB legal turbo kits now. So unfortunately not a redesign. Its a turbo upgrade for existing kits...

We can debate that for days. Either way this turbo would work with any of the single turbo kits.....

Unfortunately not.... Turbonetics decided to stop selling anything non-CARB. Since CARB has gone on a rampage of fining people lately who even produce a non-CARB legal anything and there was no way to make a CARB legal single kit Turbonetics decided not to risk it. Blame the government in Cali. I do.. CARB is a waste of time. 1,000 turbo cars couldn't pollute as much as a legal factory but they seem intent on persecuting any aftermarket parts company who makes anything non-CARB legal. They have to raise money for the state somehow.

Man....I lived in Cali for 2 or so years and I really do hate how things happen over there. They wanna knock the turbo cars with the emissions, but what about the bro trucks with big *** pipes shooting black sut(sp*) all over the place? Cali is one ****ed up state.

Tell me about it... One gas turbo car and the game is over. I just don't get it. JWT couldn't even get their kit approved WITH cats. Its retarded. I drive past the power plant in Carlsbad every Saturday..Its blowing who knows how much crap into the air all day every day. But that's ok. My turbo Z gets me a fine though...retarded... I love the Cali scene and climate but miss the Florida emissions rules... wait what Florida emissions rules...

i definitely didnt mean what i said to bad mouth the kit. I know tons of dudes running this kit with no problems and loving it. The problems were definitely a case to case basis
