Default exhaust turn downs with FI

hey, i was wonder has anyone ever used a turn down with their exhaust system with FI. I have the Greddy TT kit and i was wondering if i used a turn down after my y pipe would it be unbearably LOUD and would the car vibrate excessively? thanks in advance

No, i dont mean open dumps this is what i mean. im using the standard greddy kit, i got 2.5 test pipes attached to the downpipe which connects to a aam y-pipe which then connects to a turn down and shoots the exhaust straight o the ground. has anyone done anything like that??

idk if anyone has done it but why would you put dual exhaust into a Y pipe if you are going to turn it down anyways? that IS called "dumps" on the exhaust. when you have it cut and pointed down with no exhaust on the car that's what they call it.

if you are going to do it save yourself the restriction and just go straight from the test pipes into turn downs.

Yes it will be stupid loud...unless you are trying to pull hp for a drag car i wouldn't do it. I ran mine open test pipes back to my house from the shop and my head felt like someone beat it with a hammer by the time i got home.

Its fine

as long as you don't have any neighbors, like being stared at everywhere you drive (not in a good way) and enjoy scaring small children and senior citizens.

My car was so loud like this even the tuner didn't want to drive it

i've only heard wastegate exhausts called dumps and exhaust cut offs called turn downs.

either way, just dont drive with the test pipes only. Thats how someones car caught on fire at the track. Turn downs would be very loud, esp since they'd be opening right under the front seats

i dont use that word but some of the v8 community around here calls it that. i guess they have a Y valve in the exhaust so they can run "open dump" at the track. i thought the same thing but i'm not the end-all of car knowledge so i never question it. I live in a huge redneck area too, so that might have some interpretation issues too.

how did someone's car catch on fire with only text pipes? I wouldn't do it again but i had to get it home after installing my vortech at the shop (shop has a lift). The exhaust wasn't here yet so i drove it to my garage and let it sit.

I ran them with my 850bbs and Custom Forged performance 3.5" down pipes then right to dumps. I was brutal muscle car guys loved it they would always be asking about my car and giving the thumbs up. When I started it in my garage it would shake things off the walls and when driving it was bruttaly loud and droned and vibrated like crazy. Two weeks was all I could handle it would be fine for track cars but day to day it got old fast. i will try to find my vid and pictures for you.
