So I finally pulled the trigger and started the process to resurrect the Z. '04 PPW Greddy Twin Turbo (stock motor). Last time I drove it, it felt like it was in some sort of limp mode and wouldn't rev past 3k.
I took her to Z Car Garage and upon start up they've discovered that the car is only running on 5 cylinders. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Leakdown and comp test are in progress now. Boy I hope it's just plugs or something and not the bottom end.

8lbs and around 390 HP. The car was originally tuned for 93 (from Georgia) when I brought her to California. After that I only pumped 100 octane for about a year with no problems. One day, no loud boom no nothing...she just wouldn't go past 3k.

I'd be happy running low 12's, high 11's. Totally doable on a stock bottom end with around 390~400hp. Just gotta have a good tune.
It really comes down to $$$. If the bottom end needs fixing, I may just take up SexyRob on those stock pieces and spend the money on a really solid tune. I've already purchased Osiris Tuner, upgraded MAF, RFS and injectors so I should be set.

Hopefully just a coil pack or something. If it is, hopefully you didn't drive it too long like this, all that unburnt fuel will wash the cylinder walls and make it a permanent 5-cyl engine LOL.
so you need to spend money on internals and don't wanna upgrade for roughly the same price or slightly more for reliability? Who did your tune and who would do your new "solid" tune?

That's the whole thing. I f'd up. I did say it was tuned, however I didn't mention that it was on the Greddy Emanage Blue which is what comes with the turbo kit stock. Not really ideal for dialing in your motor. For a "solid tune" I'm open to suggestions, but my plan was to take it to Mr. Shawn Church. I've heard he does great work at a reasonable price.

Dude, if it comes to that, at least upgrade your stock rods and pistons. Replacing stock internals with stock internals is like changing a timing belt on a car and not changing the water pump.

Why take the risk again? Even if your not looking for 500 right now you may want it later and you have the kit to support it. and as you've already seen anything close to 400 or more on stock block is risky. I tuned mine down to 375 because I don't want to be in your shoes
