I would assume for just under 4.0L yes normal length rods, but I'm no expert on that.

For those power applications (and I'd assume you are going to rev it) I'd look at Billet Girdle, and maybe billet mains too.

Don't know what headwork you have done, but if you are going to be revving it probably want different valves too (don't know how much heat the stock valves can handle).

Just thinkin outloud though,

so if you go with a stroker crank, do you still use the normal length rods, ie the 3.8L with 96mm bore, do you use normal Pauter,Carillo etc rods?

no i dont follow actually. I am trying to figure if i should go sleeved or an unsleeved.

I had 150+ passes last year, and expect about the same this year with the new setup. probably 6000 miles on the street.

definitely going to use a billet girdle. not sure about the caps.

I think it's still pretty obvious that re-sleeving is still more risk than it's worth for 99% of builds out there.

Still haven't heard of ANY stock sleeve failures.

i guess at 900whp its hard to say if I am in the 1% or not..... lots of risk in everything I suppose, but still no real info, just guesses.

The only thing that I read is that possibly the stock metal sleeve is quite thin and may warp compared to a thicker darton sleeve....

in the end i'd rather not sleeve, unless the builder takes responsibility if their is some sorta sleeve related failure.

Brian,
I just don't think there is a big enough data-set for these things....not many people have really pushed the stock sleeves yet (only what, 5 cars that have been over 750rwhp on stock sleeves at all).

Now we have folks like Str8, XKR, that have made over 800rwhp on stock sleeves....mine is fully capable but its question marks like these that keep me from pushing anymore. Intense had done it too, but don't know much about that car anymore.

Just hopin mine stays together lol
