Default Koyo rad with TN kit

Just a little FYI for us with a TN turbo kit.

The Koyo rad is much larger and does not fit per 2 diff mechanics.....

So I did it myself and there right it does not fit without denting in one set of fins on the drivers side.

Also the tabs for the condenser where a biotch so I cut thous off "on the rad"

Still had a little trouble fitting the rad till mechanic #1 who we will call the bane of my Z. "Everything he touches F**ks up"

Popped it right into place and by popped I mean poped a freaking hole in my koyo rad!

He thinks the condensers lower bracket that goes to the rad poped it but wtf does he know.

More updates when I tear the entire front off again and see wtf he did.

Oh and another little FYI, you must remove the entire front of your Z to get the rad in the tabs as its a total biotch without loosening the large retainer that holds the top and bottom of the rad in place. This involves also loosening the headlights and removing intercooler, bumper, impact beam and mounts.

Furthermore the bane of my Z advised me that the fan assembly does not fit on the koyo rad as the turbo plumbing is in the way.

Anyone know of a very low profile fan assembly I can use for this SOB??

Before I scrap this entire project or build a custom turbo piping.

you could try the GTM fan kit, although you might have to talk with them to see if it fits for sure.

I'm assuming you have the oversized Koyo R, not the thin model?

+1 Most people do not have a problem with the 36mm V core Koyo

There are already several threads on this very subject. Here is one in particular...

Update, the condencer lower brackets are held on by a phillips head screw. this poped a pin size hole. Little aceton and JB weld will hopefully do the trick. Wating for it to dry and cur till I test it.

we are all guessing because nobody else had any problem with a TN and a 36mm Koyo as indicated by the threads linked above.

so maybe pics will help someone point out where you have gone wrong.

otherwise break out the grinder and make it fit. doesnt sound like you have many options if 2 mechanics already looked at it.

well so far I pulled the rad and JB welded the hole.... twice.

set it in last night and hooked up the lower rad hose then filled it with 1 gal water. So far no leakage so I will bolt her up asap and try the fan assembly again. Will post pics if I am not able to get her in. Thus far I have made things fit even when the ban of my Z claims they will not. I shoulda been a mechanic and he should have been a farmer!

well I dremmeled the fan bolts flush and forced in into place with a hammer. Fits like a glove. Once again the mechanic and the bane of my Z are tards and would have costed me $500 on a flexlight fan.

reinstalling the fan has also pushed the front frame/rad mount forward and to the right to the point where the stock impact beam does not fit. Picked up some longer M8-1.25 bolts from home depot that are a little longer but are alen wrench heads "only longer M8-1.25 they carry" will update if it works or if this is a scrap job. I need the impact beam as it protects the intercooler but more imprtant it holds my oil cooler kit up.

Odd how it seems like many have done this but no one is piping up or returning pms.

Well the larger bolts still where not much help on the drivers side so I cut the front impact beam. Cut it right after the bolts on the left side but still where I could mount the oil cooler. The larger alen bolts fit after the impact beam on the drivers side was removed.
