I think it opens around 150F, remember your radiator fans on/off switch ultimately controls coolent temps.
(I have mine in because the rubber gasket is attached to the thermostat, you could take the spring and valve out and just leave the housing and gasket.)

how does this cooling mod work?.............are we talking about just a colder thermostat that comes with the kit or does it have a second thermostat to install on the car?...so would the car running the stock thermostat plus a secondary?

Secondary that opens up to cool other parts of the motor

its an entirely new rear coolant pipe with a hose that attaches to a coolant port between the heads. stock, there's just a block on it, but with the pathfinder part, you take off the block and attach a hose.

supposed to give better coolant flow to the rear cylinders, since there's a more direct route. theres another thermostat in that new rear coolant pipe. I use it since thats how the engineers at nissan designed it. but its up to you how you want to do it.

My car warms up fast enough that it doesnt matter. By the time im driving for a bit all the stats are wide open

maybe you should ask GTM about melting heads and this "pathfinder cooling mod"... there is a reason that it isn't used anymore on VQs...

Maybe you could send us a link or enlighten us on the knowledge you possess

Just the facts, no GTM vs FP BS required.
