Need Help with Stillen SC kit! Please!!
Ok, I just purchased used stillen SC kit (stage 2). I just called Stillen to order a few things I needed to install this into my 03Z. They were stage 3 pulley, belts, seal, and spark plugs totaling about $200.
Now, they suggest I get some upgrades for my older supercharger. They suggested getting :
Idler plate upgrade kit $280+
6 Rib upgrade $450+
My questions are , do I or should I get those upgrades? Whats the difference b/n what I got now vs upgrades? I don't mind upgrades but over 700 for just "upgrades"?
Please Help!!

on any belt driven system, the more ribs the better. Best bet would just install what you have and if you get belt slip, you'll want to make the upgrades that stillen suggests.
But if no belt slip, then carry on!

yes i have ...nothing againt that kind of setup at all..my buddy has a twin screw cobra and it is nasty...i have also ridden in a stillen charged Z and it was very weak and nothing but noisy while it was getting beat by a untuned 1999 vortech civic SI on 10psi...The stillen kit is weak for the z that is all...good for a daily driver very safe stock block setup though if someone isnt looking for any kind of big power or upgradability with the kit..

I totally know what you mean. I know that I can get only about 350rwhp out of this kit even if I get stage 4. A few weeks ago, I wasn't even thinking about FI, and just leaving my 03Z NA and be done with the car after getting brakes, lip kit, and ECU. But I got pretty good deal on this kit and just thought there is no cheaper way to gain extra 80-100 hp. I do drive my Z very often and also has over 65K miles. I just didn't want to put more money/more power into this old ride of mine just to brake rods... I'm gonna wait to mess with turbos till I get newer stock turbo car... (Don't worry, I would never get Suby or EVO) Hopefully GT-R soon....

I don't mind spending money on cars at all. I just didn't want throw another several grand to just get 400-450hp. I can still get GT-R and spend 10-15k to get suspension, rims/tires, exhaust, ECU, and Boost controller( I already have spent that much on my Z,) and get sub-1minute at Tsukuba. If I can't afford it with in next five years, I'll ship built R33 v-spec to US... (Now this sh*t hauls azz!!!)
