Default which supercharger kit?

Of all the superchargers that are available now, which one produces the most hp at the wheels? I know ATI is @ 370hp, anyone know about Vortech?

Well it's too early to compare. No one (consumer) has a Vortech kit yet, but if you want to judge from preliminary numbers then the ATI wins.

Anyone can produce hp, just turn up boost. I strongly suggest you worry about reliability first. You want a kit that provides performance, reliabilty, and service IMHO.

Of course, if all you want is hp, get any kit, change the pulley and run it at over 10lbs of boost, run it lean to maximize hp, then add nitrious for more hp. I bet you can get 500hp out of it. You will even outrun a Z06 vette for a 1/4 mile, maybe even 5 miles before it blows up.

The Vortec does sound sweet. How about this, you buy it, drive the heck out of it and brag how wonderful it is and dependable it is as well. I will get jealious and buy one after that.

Don't tempt me.Hehe, I was looking at Superchargersonline.com and saw they are giving a $300 instant rebate on Vortech SC kits, and Vortech has a $100 rebate too, so for well under $5K (don't wanna say their price since it isn't advertised), I could get the polished version.

zland: Do you know where there are videos of Vortechs running with the bypass valve (bov)? I'd love to hear how similar to a Turbo it sounds...grrrrrowl...whiiiiiiine....(shift)...PSHHHHT!

Ahhh...time to go to sleep and dream.

I just got a reply from jimster below (this was grabbed from another thread not related to SC, I thought some of you might miss it there). I think maybe you guys would enjoy reading about what the status of the dreamworks SC is right now. Jim was the guy that lent them his Z to measure it for designing the SC months ago just in case you dont know that fact. Here is his reply:

I don't know the status of the supercharger. As you may already know, DreamWorkes is taking orders for estimated January delivery. I was told that the design is complicated enough such that manufacturing hurdles also have to be cleared in terms of machining and castings...something not surprising in light of the all-in-one design basically involving manufacture of a complete upper intake manifold including intake runners. I am to receive a production unit for CARB testing as I understand it so I don't expect anything until January.
