how to get 500whp or more out of Powerlab?
Well, I plan on purchasing the Powerlab Single Turbo Kit very soon and have read some very impressive dyno #'s that include 420whp on stock blocks. I currently have a full exhaust, HFC's, Headers, and Kinetix SSV Manifold. Before i make this purchase, i must buy the stage 3 built long block from Import Parts Pro (IPP) that includes ARIAS PISTONS, PAUTER RODS, and JWT S1 CAMS. Having said that, what else would i need to go 500 or more whp other than Bigger Injectors and Fuel Rail. Should i easily make my goal with this setup already? Let me know if anyone knows of other members with BUILT SINGLE TURBO's. thank you
I plan on getting the tuner kit w/ supporting mods like:
stillen oil cooler kit
megan racing radiator
Cobb AP
DeatschWerk Fuel Injectors
walboro fuel pump
All gauges
HKS Turbo Timer

Let me help all you guys understand this thread:
so basically what you are telling us is that you are dropping 6 grand on a shortblock engine and then you are going to limiti it with a turbo setup that you already know has trouble pushing 500hp on pump gas. WHY would you do that? Unless you plan on using a stage 3 engine just get a normal built engine. Even then it's not needed because you aren't going to be making big hp on a powerlab.
do a search and please don't make "dreamer" threads.

The issues is, IF he actually was looking into it and discussing it he would have already known Kyle's opinion on buying that block for a powerlab. Another fact to back a "dreamer" thread. Kyle would have asked his plans and recommended the appropriate engine for it.
If his goals r to get 500whp then i'd say go straight for the gt37r to save urself from having to upgrade eventually n meth n race gas.. i cant imagine 500hp is hard to make with this kit... im sure the gt37r would yield even better results
If it is not, then it would seem to me that the turbo is being pushed too hard, past the compressor's choke line. When this happens, the intake air gets very hot, which might explain why race gas and/or meth injection helps. The meth injection will help cool the air, and race gas will do a much better job at staving off detonation than pump gas. Based on this, I would go with a bigger turbo that is not operating past the choke line at the desired hp.
Is there anything I am missing here?

I have not looked into the Powerlab turbo kit. Nonetheless, 500 hp should be a slam dunk on a low compression, built, motor on premium pump gas.

To get 500 rwhp, the turbo needs to provide somewhere around 54 lb/min of air flow at 11 - 13 psi, depending on the exact configuration. This still will be right around the GT37R compressor's choke line, but it should work.
I derived these numbers based on my previous results on a Mustang dyno. Obviously, every dyno reads different.

This is NO DREAM THREAD, and i have searched the thread. I am starting this build this winter when the car is away. If i can make over 450 whp w/ meth injection, then I will be more than happy, which is what i am looking at most likely gonna get. Thanks to all for the input.

You would be happy to spend 10k or more to make 450whp on meth.......
All signs point to dreamer. Come to the table with a solid build plan, know what youre getting into, what you want to achieve and actually follow through. This whole "will do it in the winter" crap is nonsense.
