Being a former Toyo guy... 500hp is easy but everything for a 2JZ is expensive almost double what you'd be paying for a VQ and they are HEAVY as hell. Aluminum block/heads(VQ) vs Iron block/aluminum heads(2JZ), VQ's naturally make more torque, and replacement pieces are easier to find VS 2JZGTE which was only available in the Supra here in the US. 2JZGE's are very common in GS300's, SC300's, and IS300 but are very different bottomend wise(GTE piston squirters VS GE none at all) and the intake mani's are completely different. GE heads can be made to flow better and thats what most big power Supra's do with Q45 throttle bodies w/custom intake mani's. I dont see a performance to investment return on this... thats my personal opinion of course. Build the bottom end for less than 10k even with the single set up you have and you'll be faster. If you were going for something retarded like 800+whp I'd understand but for what your looking for I'd build the stock VQ block.
