HKS turbo kit?
Hey all I was looking at the HR hks turbo kit and really like the gt2540 turbo kit option for bot power and response. Obviously these are quite smalle turbos compared to the 20gs, but I am trying to track my car at VIR, Rockingham, for track days and time trials. The two things that I am wondering is A. why do you not see these turbo kits on many cars? and B. No external wastegate option? I think this kit is quite cool bc you can do your own choice of intercooler and piping. Opinions? Also what would be the ideal turbos for time attack track days. The gtss gt2540 or the gtrs which is a gt 28? Thanks. By the way all turbos a/r is .64
You dont see turbo kits on many stock cars for many reasons... the manufacturer would have to build a stronger block, they are expensive, they are complicated, tend to lower the reliability of a car.... list goes on... the gains are incredible, but some people are just not willing to bite the bullet...
Thats not what he's asking . The hks kit is expensive for a very incomplete kit ....look into the gtm stage one kit Im not positive but I'm pretty sure the turbos used are comparable to the hks kit .
The reason few people are using the kit, is that it's not a complete kit. It's a setup kit that includes just the manifolds, turbos, an elbow or 2, and the oil pan. No IC, IC Piping, Oil Lines, Coolant Lines..etc..etc.
