Default Forged Performance: Momentum Single Turbo Kit preview pics

I wanted to share some pics I just took after unboxing the new Momentum Performance GT3582R Single Turbo Kit. We are installing the kit right now and once we are done we'll post a shop build thread. For now, here are some quick previews and my initial impressions of the kit.

First, the packaging is outstanding and a refreshing change from most turbo kits on the market. Very sturdy double boxing, cut foam, and a custom separation of all parts. A lot of thought went into the packaging and it shows. Those of you that have seen some of the other turbo kit packaging on the market will immediately appreciate the difference. All small items are individually bagged, tagged, and clearly marked for easy identification. These are things that not only protect the product in transit but also speed up the installation process so the technician isn't hunting and gathering for small parts.

Second, the instruction manual is very complete with lots of pictures and clear instructions along the way.

But most importantly, the quality of the materials used (16G 304 Stainless, and 16 gauge 6061 aluminum) perfectly clean and precise tig welding and some of the tightest fit-ups I've seen.

Have a look...so far so good.

WHOA!!!!

Actually looks like something that should cost thousands... nice attention to detail.

I'm slowly beginning to nut hug... and I wasn't necessarily in the market for a ST, but this does get one leaning, LOL.

you mean turbo kit arent supposed to come packed in a HKS exhaust box? i was duped!

Its awesome to see the detail going into everything! This car will be fun as hell on the street!

there are a few things to consider between the momentum and BP, for example
1. are you ever going to build you engine
2. are you going to run race gas/E85 all the time
3. do you want to fuss with a mechanical oil sump pump
4. do you care if your airfilter is slung close to the ground
5. do you like to show off your engine bay

there are no right or wrong answers, just personal preferences as both kits work just fine as they are sold.

I don't think you'd go wrong with either, research on both, pro's and cons, watch the youtube vids, choose from there

The kit looks great but it's still a gt35r turbo so it's going to max out at around ~500whp (pump) on DD like the powerlab kit. It's a great option for stock blocks

A turbocharger system's efficiency is much more than just the turbocharger efficiency.

Very impressed!
Appears to be top quality on build, materials and packaging. This is a aviation grade product in my eyes. One thing i do like about the BP kit though is the turbocharger is out of the engine bay which provides more room under the hood and more importantly reduces under hood temps.

1. BP offers a 6262 for non built engines, then if you do build you can upgrade?!
2. this doesnt make sense...
3. its the best oil sump pump... ive yet to see one go out!
4. i dont go mudding often... no problem there!
5. "HI GUYS LOOK AT MY HOT ENGINE BAY WITH MY EVEN HOTTER TURBO IN HERE!"

I think BP now ofers 6265 T4 with choices of .80 - .91? ar ( the only single turbo kit who uses T4 btw ) and thats plenty of power for stock block.. actually it will shine even more on a built motor...

2.. I think this makes perfect sense... let me see... it makes more power than the t3 35r... .... ill stop there
3. In either platforms Z and G I would never go mudding.. who does?..
i hope no one goes mudding and think its an evo?....
4. thats good
5. id rather have the turbo under there then in an engine bay sacrificing the AC ( but I think theres a solution for that now ) .. oh and it gets a lot more airflow down there....

im just saying.... thats my opinion

SHARIF- my apologies for going off topic.
The kit looks great and the welds look amazing!!! packaging owns too!!

yes... Funny thing is 35r was picked cause is what most push it to in terms of power 3 years ago...and its still the same today.
