Default ceramic coating turbo headers +

I was told to ceramic coat the hot side of the turbos and the down pipes... I was wondering how important this is or if it's a must.. Or am I just wasting money doing it. I am getting up there with the money and I still have alot to do. So how important is this?

I am stock block TT and everything came heat wrapped. But when I build, I will take the extra steps to protect and keep heat / temps down under the hood.

It will greatly reduce your under hood temps, but it is not a must do thing. However while everything is apart prior to the build is the ideal time to do it. It should only be a couple hundred bucks if I recall right, but I know how you feel near the end of your build you feel like you are getting couple hundred bucked to death.

I wish I would have done my manifolds, exhaust housings, and downpipes. I will do it next time the motor is out.

One of the upsides to rebuilding my car 3 times is doing all of the little things you wish you did the first time. I coated the hot sides, manis, downpipes, coolant hard lines, all of the air pipes around the turbos, the inside of the pipe that runs to the throttle body and the lower intake collector....I got a little carried away maybe OCD on my part

I would say if you can afford it, at bare min do the manifolds and exhaust housing. If you wanted to do anything else you could do that later on.

Impressive list. I JUST decided to do a ceramic coating. I think I'll just do the big 3 like Goblin mentioned: Exhaust housing, down pipes, and manifold.

I just got my parts back today. It wasn't too expensive, about ~350 for manifolds, exhaust housings and downpipes.
