according to the vids, doesn't sound obnoxiously loud

I can speak of experience, even though i only pushed mine one or twice before i found couple issues with one of the turbo open dumps are pretty insane. I like how my set up makes no noise until i go WOT! then it gets loud but not annoying.

I love my open dumps. WOT, I dont mind, and I can drive plenty fast with 60% throttle and keeping the dumps closed.

When I dont drive my car a while I shake it down with a quick 5th gear redline romp, usually I get an instant headache, I smell like fuel after, and my hands are trembling from adrenaline, and this confirms 2 things. All is right with the world that moment, and Im probobly broke again.

The first couple seconds of this run, (which of course is on a closed course) you can get a good idea of what my dumps sound like. Once I start going though, you lose the effect.

I can say that now that I am boosted that **** is loud... At 3 psi it sounds angry man I can wait to get the real deal tune then open it up...

 

Open dumps get real annoying, especially at low boost just around town. Highway they don't seem as bad. Wastegate @6psi and MBC for 9.5psi for me and I hit it a lot just driving. Making arrangements to have recirculating fitting made up soon

 

I kinda grew away from the sound.. Ive come to like the sound better when its routed back into the DP.. there good for a few weeks but get annoying imo

 

I don't mind the open dumps at all. At first I didn't like it, but it grew on me fast and I have no problem with them. Other people on the road probably do not like it, but oh well.

 

I finally plumped mine back, they were fwcking annoying.

 

had open dump on my evo and loved it. then again i had a 14psi spring and was running 28lbs

 

i'm a huge fan of my open dumps...they freak anyone who hasn't been in the car out ...hehe

ok go back to the first post my video is up.. i had someone use the mozilla app that downloads any video your watching to your computer.. im on a macbook so i couldnt do it.. i dont know if i want to keep the open dump.. i wish i could switch back and forth on the fly

no different than your exhaust did beforehand

its more common than open dumps, especially with factory turbo cars, or turbo kits with internal gates.

im guessing you aren't boosted

 

lol you can spot a noobie a mile away. yeah im not boosted, only have an exhaust on my car for now.
