twin 66mm turbos thru a TH400 tranny would make any platform super fast The motec opens alot of doors in terms of making custom parts work. very cool

you can tell from that last video thats not a streetable car.

If Vlad SP built sedan ever had real passes, it would probably be right up there as well.

keep in mind, when the car ran 8.33 it was still using the factory manifold, i dont even think it was running with a spacer either. in the video the hood is factory.

this is the pic of other hood to make room for the larger manifold.

heres some other early videos

The porting was done by Vinny and I think he said when he was building the engine he was wearing blue jeans, blue underwear and a pair of nike sneakers, and I'm sure in his traditional sweat shirt LOL

Do you need more specifics? Really what specifics do you want to know... valve clearance, piston to wall clearance, rod bearing clearance, main bearing clearance, ring end gap, crank journal main and rod size... I mean these are all things that Vinny includes in every engine and if I posted them on the forums my competitors would have a field day. I'm sorry but I think everyone realizes theres only so much he can disclose. I hope the members can understand and respect that.
Pics of the blue clothing and sweatshirt or it didn't happen.

I can understand that you may not want to disclose everything, but I was mainly thinking about a parts list. And how about a dyno sheet?

And what's going on with the new set up (just something basic on what you guys are planning to roll out to the strip)?

LOL I don't think the detailed specs that 3hree5ive0ero was referring to were anything THAT specific.

Here's the kind of things the moderators need to know to include this car in the top 25 drag list (which are also some of the things many of us are curious about):
  • full unibody car/not a tube chassis? full unibody (no gut)
  • stock displacement or bored/stroked? stock displacement
  • sleeved or unsleeved motor? sleeved
  • turbo setup used (you said a custom twin T66 turbo setup)

As you can see Brandon, there are only a few things on that list that haven't been clarified already.

Do you have some pics you could post here? Would LOVE to see a good engine bay pic or two of that custom twin turbo setup!

Also... In the portion of the Drag Source article that you posted in your other thread... I noticed that it said this motor had Nismo cams. Would also LOVE to see a dyno sheet!!! Does Vinny still have a dyno sheet that you could post up?

Stock rear diff?

Suspension?

Funny you guys were wrecking a$$ way long ago, while these other shops are still trying to catch up.

Too bad you guys didnt have more of a presence on these forums as you did all this, you would have taken lots of $$$ from other shops. Even though you have achievements, many will not release the left nut of the shops they currently and will forever cling to.

no one has really tried to catch up.... IP and SP are the only other 2 shops that have even bothered to put a real auto on these cars.

Where is this VTR car now?

It had a Nismo LSD and suspension was just a coilover, believe they were Teins.

Not sure where the car sits. As far as we know, the car never ran when Vinny left.

I think SP and Charles showed that cams mean less than the intake mani on the VQ. By that I mean, SP was running little BC Stage 2 cams but with a CJM intake and ported heads of course. And they were flowing to higher RPM's than most others dare (that and a billet girdle help too).
I know my stock head, bc stage 3, 60mm turbos and stock intake mani couldn't breath
well, above 7300rpm......

Ain't that THE TRUTH. I don't think those other shops would have nearly as many fanboys today if VTR had been more active on my350z and more involved with the VQ community on a national level.

But I'm glad they're here now! I look forward to seeing VTR provide some excitement and positive change to this site.

Wow... that's impressive considering that the suspension wasn't heavily modified. Was it the stock 3.5 gear in the rear?

agreed. I have spoken to Vinny a while back when I was up there doing my clutch, about joining the forums... i guess he just wasnt up for the drama that goes on here.. and i dont blame him.. regardless he was packed to his head building Z & Gs and wasnt even advertising on here... I can only imagine how much more business he could of made being here..

Vinny has his own techniques and does his own thing when it comes to engines Looking forward to more!!

Couldn't have said it any better.
On a tangent:
Does VTR have problems with sleeved blocks? I noticed you guys have sleeved blocks for sale online... If you guys have success with and can give pointers to keeping the cylinders from sliding you could make a serious impact in our community as well as some serious $$$. Sh*t, if you guys had reliable sleeved blocks, i'd be saving up for a true build with your block...

From what Ive heard thru customers they dont seem to have issues with them, but no offense, I trust nobody that says that in regards to this platform.

Perhaps they have the recipe for success, of course youd have to go there to have it on your car, I dont blame them not wanting to share anything with the shops on here for obvious reasons.
