Default Shop for a turbo rebuild?

Can anyone recommend a good shop to have a turbo rebuilt at in the southwest area preferably AZ? I have read a lot about Blouch turbo and Boost Lab, but before I ship my turbo across the country I was just curious if anyone had any experience with a somewhat local shop. Thanks for any input.

I’ve heard a few people use Arizona Turbo and Tractor Supply. Also, maybe try giving Full Race a call; they might be able to point you in the right direction too… GL Mike!

I've heard of guys out here in the NE sending Turbos out to Blouch for rebuilds and always seem to be happy.

It is the stock turbonetics turbo. I really don't want to have to put money into this kit, but I had to take the downpipe and turbo off this past weekend to replace the low side AC line. When I removed the downpipe, I found that the pipe that connects the wastegate to the downpipe had cracked in half. Then I found that the turbo has some shaft play and I believe the seals have gone bad because it smokes some under full boost, so I figure I might as have it rebuilt while it is off. I plan on selling the kit in about a year anyways in order to buy a kit that can make more power with a built engine. So, hopefully the turbo will be in good shape when I go to sell this kit next year.

How is your build going, Fahad?

Haha, it’s going…I got all the parts last month and the engine’s at the machine shop right now, dropped off the pistons, rods, etc. last week so I’m just waiting on them to finish boring, balancing, etc. Once that’s all done the shop should be able to begin assembling the engine. So, no real ETA yet but I’m hoping I’ll have it tuned and running sometime in July.
