thats an auto trans though... not really ideal for the power levels when you would really want to bother with the expense and work of adding AWD to a Z/G
Cool did a shop do it in North America or was it in AUS? I am in for pictures/details was it sedan parts with a different tranny or R-32/R-34 parts i assume a combo of sedan axles diff ect with GTR trans.
I have been thinking about an AWD conversion lately.....

^^ I spent a hour or two staring at pics of RB transmissions and I came to the conclusion that I didn't want to buy one because I wasn't very confident I could mate it to a VQ properly. I think I was most worried about the starter. IIRC the RB bell housings are not removeble either?
I'll say that I have been highly interested in this for a while and of anyone knows of a somewhat cost effective manual trans to do it.... Well it excites me enough that I would say I have a spare DE block in my garage at home and if someone shipped me a trans to borrow for R&D, I would build them an adapter plate or bell housing for letting me use it. Not sure if I could help with the clutch/flywheel combo or not though.

Dave @ F/T did it on Juan's 350Z using a G35x drivetrain I believe. Then they went to dyno it using the 3wd dyno and removing the front half shafts but then there was an issue with the trans possibly. I read a thread about it a long while back and considered briefly buying the car until I found out the AWD was not functional completely.
Driven1 would know the car and the story behind it best. Also try searching the user name Juan@FunctionTuned

All of that work in the engine bay and under the car and there are two crappy pics from a distance of the outside of the car. I can barely make out the APS intercooler, but the exhaust doesn't look 4"
