So we just received our GTX2863's for our Twin turbo HR build that we are doing. Dimensionally the are the same as the 2860's with a lot more flow potential up top. We are looking to get the best possible spool with out sacrificing power up high. we are using .63 exhaust housings with V band outlets. They also have a .86 housing available. They also have a GTX2867R option which we might switch to later if we wanna make bigger power...some pics for ya guys

Detailed pics

Just for reference the GTM stage ones come with 2871R's with a .63 Housing and the stage twos are the same turbos but .86 housings....

Your correct on the 2871r's....i was looking at that compressor map and typed 2860's in...
This is for our GS400 drift car so we are looking for instant spool... but i think with the extended flow up top it wound be far off the 2871's with alot better spool... I think over all alot of people run too large of turbos and run them at low boost and the aren't as efficient as they could be. If I wanted big power we probably would have done a single set up...

on a side note.
im wishing i went a little bigger turbo's on my set up but ran out of budget
the 2871's dont breath enough for the 4.07L stroker. spools fast as **** though haha 600 tq by 5000 rpm

I overlayed so compressor maps for comparision...these are pretty much the reason I was excited for these turbos...
Also I talked to Sam at GTM and he said some of his stage 2 kits are 2860's with .86 housings and some of them are 2871's

impressive they flow that much more on the top end
if i had some extra cash and there were turbo's readily available i would have went bigger but i was outa money after getting brakes and the garrets i wanted were a month out they told me so i just had em put it back together XD wanted to do twin gtx 3071's
their sweet spot is 30lb/min at 23-28psi.
what about that made you excited? Serious, as I know what turbo maps mean, but not sure how you apply that.

The fact that ill get good spool and good low end tq.... run them at a lower boost of 14-15lbs no problem....but when I turn then up to 23-24lbs ill still be in the "sweet spot"...
I have a pretty cool spreadsheet I designed several years ago that you guys may find useful. It is a compressor math spreadsheet that I drafted and a turbo expert on the SR20 platform helped me tighten up. It allows you to enter displacement and other parameters and then allows you to plot the points on the maps from Garret. If you guys think it would be helpful, i can post it up.
Ah heck, I'm proud of it so here is the link. Its called Compressor Math...its the first link. You can read the description of what it does. You plot 3 cylinders at a time since you are running twins, just half the displacement, etc.

I don't wanna mess with manifolds and such with yours I thought about them already haha. Gtx3071 s bolt up to a t25 flange :P
. IMHO for power levels over 600whp I wouldn't run anything less than t3's. I know people have run t28's out there (and similar via td06's), but you want a big turbo and a little t25 probably will choke a bit of max power.
I'm surprised honestly that they'd even make a gt30 frame with a t25 exhaust housing. Maybe they do flow that well, and it's just in my head
?
