lol whut?

both are good quality, go with what the TUNER recommends and is most comfortable with. The mechanic isn't going to tune your car. The tuner is the person who is going to be using it and you want to make it as easy as possible for them to do a good job. Everyone has their personal preferences and using what he likes best is only going to translate into a better tune for you

Like he said, go with what your tuner is familiar with. I know first hand the EVC6, although a powerful unit, can be very confusing for the first time user.

what? all the guys running larger power numbers are running haltech or pro efi and using that as a boost controller.

and i dont consider under 550 to be larger power numbers but thats just me

and honestly for the price of one of those units + price of osiris license you can get a good used haltech.

I'm just saying he asked a targeted question comparing 2 boost controllers and your answer had nothing to do with that..

actually if you read the thread title he asked what everyone is running he also asked if there was another one just as good, which the haltech is.

Well the question would be what EMS you running Seymore?

Almost all EMS for the VQ35De have boost controller capabilities unless you running Osiris.

If it's Osiris you running then I would say go with whatever your tuner is comfortable with even though the consensus around here would be the HKS EVC6

I'm running the BLITZ dual sbc spec s and it fairly good. The only other boost controller i have used is the greddy profec b spec II. They are very similar. I know those aren't the two controllers you are wondering about but other than controlling boost and having multiple levels of control, i think the apexi avc-r and hks are over complicated. You just need a simple, functional unit to operate. Both of the ones I mentioned are that at the least. The blitz has 4 levels of boost control and greddy has two. I have the boost levels set at .5, .6, .7, .8 and my wastegate is .4. Both have boost warning and level reduction if you hit the warning limit. The only thing I don't care for is they spike slightly before regulating properly. You mostly notice it if you gouge the car all at once. If you roll into the throttle boost will be limited immediately. I was thinking about switching out the solenoid as the one that comes with the spec s version of the blitz is not quite as capable as the spec r version. The controller is the same.

Hope that helps.
