Another Vortech Build
 

So I just ordered my kit from assultech today. Dan was very helpful. already cant wait to get it on the car. Here are the parts for my build so far:

Vortech V-3 tuner non rev-up satin kit
650cc Bosch injectors
Walbro 255 fuel pump
NKG spark plugs
Weapon R oil catch can
Uprev GT MAF sensor

I need help deciding which pulley to go with from 928 motorsports. I believe that i need the 6 rib 17mm pulley. I cant decide between the 3.15 or the 3.00 pulley. Any suggestions? I want to balance power and reliability like most people.

I am going to Hill's Garage for the install. They are a little pricey but the quality is second to none. they are the only shop that i trust with my car. Frank, the owner, recommended that i get a stage 0 fuel return system and the Vortech S Trim Performance Impeller. I do believe that these parts would be best for performance wise but idk if im ready for these yet.

Currently on my car i have an AP single exhaust, Stillen Y-pipe, Fast intention resonated test pipes, skunk2 plenum spacer, and Uprev dyno tuned to 264.8rwhp/255retq. Im estimating that with the kit i should be around 370-390whp.

Many say start with the 3.12 pulley. I did the opposite and started with stock 3.33 but upgrade my impeller to the SI trim. Click on my link for more info.

I think im gonna start with the 928 motorsports 3.00 pulley as long as its a direct replacement. Thats what frank reccomended.

no reason not to start right with the 2.87. doesnt make sense to buy a pulley you are going to use for a couple weeks then swap.

Not to mention the cost for tuning the car twice in a short period of time.

Your completely right, 950 per tune could get expensive. However i want to stay at or under 10lbs for the sake of reliability. The 928M 3.00 pulley should provide plenty of power for me. The car is going to be my daily for now. If i feel the need for more power then i will go all out when i have another car to daily.

I get 9.5 lb with 3.13 I have been boosted for 40k miles 415 rwhp

Fuel return is highly recommended for F/I. They make for a more precise tune and equalize the flow between banks and cylinders. Can you get by with no fuel return? Sure (at your power level)... but if you have the cash and like to do things correctly then get a basic return setup.

You have a 3.13 or a vortech 3.12 pulley? Also what other mods do you have?

I completely agree with you. Im most likly gonna order the cjm stage 0 return system tonight. This way i dont have to completely change the fueling maps if i get a smaller pulley. Also im thinking of buying the 928 impeller too

UPDATE:
I am purchasing the 928 motorsports vortech S trim performance impeller tomorrow and getting the CJM stage 0 fuel return system next week. still have not decided what size pulley to use yet, either the vortech 3.12 or the 928M 3.00.

If your blower(more specifically the blower's volute) isn't a S-Trim, the impeller will not be a correct fit.

Since a fuel return adjusts fuel pressure in proportion to boost/vacuum it will certainly make tuning easier. For small changes in boost you probably won't even need a touch up.

Yeah, that's the same exact blower I ordered from assaulttech. You will definitely want to read my thread before purchasing to see what I had to go through to get the 928m impeller to work properly with my setup.

O wow, i had that same misconception that you had at first about the whole S-trim thingy. all those letter can get confusing. question for you, is the 928M pulleys direct fitments on our kits?

Yes. I run the 2.62 pulley on my setup. Just make sure you get the right rib/size for our applications.

Upon installation, it might be handy to have some sort of heat source to heat the pulley up prior to installation. They fit very tight onto it's mounting point. As well, I had to trim my pulley's key because the pulley is slimmer (doesn't have the excess on it like the Vortech pulleys do.

The exact pulley I am looking to get is the 6-rib pulleys for 17mm 3.00" pulley, anodized in Natural finish. This is what size they and rib configuration 928M said would work with my application and frank hill told me to go with the smaller one

Everything has been ordered and am currently awaiting shipment. 928M 3.00 pulley. still debating on weather or not to get the GTM pulley kit mod. any suggestions and now for some pictures of the car/ parts:
