Default Help w/ my greddy kit....ALMOST DONE

ok i just got the greddy tt kit and i purchased it for only 6200 with intercooler so i think that was pretty good but now that im installing it i need some help so i know i dont blow up my motor.

1) The kit doesnt come with the profec e-01 (i thought it did) It only comes with the emanage. Is the emanage preprogrammed for the timing i need or do i need to go in and reprogram it to retard the timing.

2) what else do i need to do with the computer of the car so i do not detonate

3)if i have a emange do i still need to send my ecu to technosquare so they can flash it?

4)how many psi can i run safely?

5)is the profect e-01 supposed to come with the kit?

6)anything else i can do to ensure that i dont blow my motor

7)i already have an safc-2 so i know that will help but can i plug a laptop into the emanange?

thank everyone for your help with this and hopefully i will be boosted with pics and vids and a dyno before the end of the week.

1) the e manage is programed for 5.7psi with very little timing adjustment

2)Nothing if you are going to leave it at 5.7psi

3)If you send your unit to TS you will have to reprogram the emange. The emanage is based on stock ecu not an upgrade

4)no more then the 5.7 without anyform of reprogram. Remember the emanage is locked so you would have to start from scratch.

5) profec e o-1 does not come with the kit.

6)take it to a shop with an a/f dyno and make sure you are not running lean or pinging.

7) get rid of the s-afc, e manage does the same thing. Yes you can plug the e manage into a computer but you will have to buy the software for it.

Last note: Make sure you know what your doing if you are planning on increasing the boost or you will end up with a 500lb paper weight. just my .02 Good luck

Well, technically the waste gate is set to open when the intake hits 5.7 psi. Not the emanage. But you get the idea.

Very well said. DO NOT increase boost until your fuel management is ready. Pick up that AEM air fuel gauge when it comes out. That way you'll know when you have a problem before it's too late.

Man your scaring us.
I hope we can help you with your questions but you should take it slow based of the fact that your just starting out. I had to frag a few motors in the past to learn this stuff the hard way but you don't have to.

how much hp will the Grddy kit offer at 5.7psi?

They quote 334rwhp or 370hp at the crank. Check out their site they just updated it and has a link to their Z.

if i wanna run 7 i know i will have retune the car but does the emanage increase your rev limiter and speed limiter?

No it does not effect your Rev or Speed Limiters.

also where can i find out what setting i need to put the emange at in order to run 7lbs?

The Emanage has no control over boost. You would have to get a boost controller ie. profec e-01

also how much (with the right tunning) boost can the z motor handle with the stock compression and internals

The rumor is around 450rwhp based on rumors and lies about the greddy R&D and the Top Secret car. Of course plenty around here have blown them at alot less due lean condtions and too much timing. The VQ is not bullet proof by any means so be careful.

well if the car is running rich....and the timing is retard (tuning done right) than maybe the z can run about 430hp safely....that would be what 12-14 psi?

also......
i mean where can i find out how to program the emanange for 7psi or even 12 psi.......(i dont mean what hardware i need, the profec e-01....i mean the actualy setting for the air/fuel delivery)

basically i will need to run real rich as well as retard my timing alot?

i am not going to run a profec e-01 i am running a profec b

i think i got a decent deal.....
greddy kit
intercooler kit
greddy bov
greddy turbo timer
greddy profec b
shipping
$6800

You would have to go a a exp tuner to make the Map.See Greddy has a lock on the maps that come with the kit , so you have to rewrite the whole map not just tweak the high boost tables. That means cold start, hot start, idle, low speed low load, High speed low load, low speed high load and it goes on. you would need the tools ( Good wideband and dyno at least) and the knowledge, which by the way isn't in any one book ( Alot of people make a living at this and they don't feel like writing all down for you.

I think you can run 10lbs on pump gas but that's pushing it with the stock comp ratio. See the high numbers where done on race gas.

I am taking the car to be tuned professionally on the dyno....as long as he address every issue then its cool.....i want to have 2 settings low boost....5.6lbs and high boost 9-10psi. If the car is tuned right than i should be ok right? I have an safc-2 and the car will be tuned on the dyno. This is realistic correct?

with the emanange can i change the rev limiter and speed gov on laptop?

They already told you the S-afc is replaced by the E manage. And No the emanage does not clear rev and speed limiters.
