i use solid copper gaskets now with copper gasket spray on all of them. My other gaskets didn't hold up too well.

I have 2 years of hard use with snow and ice on my 2nd generation design with no cracks. This last design looks even better so there shouldn't be any cracking issues anymore.

Update:

1.5" Crack on top of WG, welded it up. Put a boxed in gusset.

Flex Pipe Failure:
Blew out the side, smoking hot exhaust on the transmission

New Berk Gaskets are much more robust.

Ghetto Patch to keep the trans safe on the ride home.

Solutions.

Sasha hit me up last night and offered to fix it no worries, however shipping to near Russia is much more expensive than just buying the flex pipe from vibrant and rewelding it in. All that being said. I decided to order a bunch or 4" piping and fabricate a new exhaust that will eventually go onto my 6766 turbo, even if it is overkill for now. I am also ordering a 10" piece of flexible fiberglass heat shield to slip over the flex pipe and provide a safety net should it blow again.

bummer. The new revisions on the kit will keep this from happening. My flex pipe is quite a big larger in diameter than the one you have which makes me think it can be flexed without damage a bit more. Mine is still good after 2 years.

Looks like you were a good test subject Don. sorry the crap hit the fan for you though.

Let me know if you are willing to part with that 6262 for me to do some testing to see if i would like a smaller turbo. I'm a broke grad student so i can't buy new turbos just to experiment.

Id gladly part with the 6262 if I had something to swap to instead. I have been looking at this 6466 and the 6766 for sometime now.

I went ahead and got a 6" flex pipe which I will also have ceramic coated and wrapped. This should double up on the protection.

unless i don't like the results then i have to buy another turbo! I'm just concerned about my ported heads flowing more than that 62 hotside can handle. The 65 hotside would be better but it's hard to find used turbos (that are worth the money the owner wants)

ya i know. I just got overly excited because i read it wrong and thought you had the 6766. I was thinking the 6262 was going to just sit in the garage doing nothing.
