576whp Vortech @ 8lbs
Ok, so I never said it was in the 350z but it's still fun to share my other car... 2012 5.0 with a Vortech V3si black edition, stock pulley, boost a pump, 3.73 gears, xpipe and GT500 mufflers. This was done last July...
Of course what is a thread without pictures right!?! This is before the install.
Lets get this started shall we? As usual the Walmart ramps are always helpful with a set of chalks for added safety.
Removal of the front bumper is a given
Got rid of the stock intake. Engine cover, radiator fan and valve covers are removed
Cutting of the fan shroud is required for the intercooler piping to route properly and the kit provides shields so that's cool
Vortech mounting bracket is in place
There is a good amount of cutting required for the coolant hoses but nobody wants to see that so on with the pictures!
Time for the massive intercooler!
Pretty happy after mounting the intercooler and seeing the build come together.
Changed out the injectors with GT500's
After putting on the intake it lookes better and better
Loading up the tune took about 10 minutes
Once I was good with things I had to cut the rear of the front bumper so the intercooler could fit... It's always good to have a dremel!
As for gauges I went with Autometer for boost and Aeroforce interceptors to monitor my a/f, coolant temp, AIT. I like those because they just plug into the OBD2 port.
As the car looks in its current state
Now it would be just stupid to have this car and not race it! Drove the car about 10 hours to Louisiana to race my friend... 06 Srt magnum with a procharger. Thing is straight nasty on the streets!
Now what's a thread without a video?

Haha I didn't even know that guy so I just gave him a random name. He knows the guy who had the magnum and said he was on his low boost tune at the time. I'll be making another video around July/August time so if the civic is still around I'll try and run him too

1/4 times were crappy we were running high 11's low 12's. I'll have some Mickey Thompsons for the next race day so I can actually get some traction now.
