Wideband Question. 1 or2?
Hello everyone. im about to start my Vortech build and had a quick question. I will be buying a MTX-L: Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge from Uprev along with the MAF and osiris and my buddy who is helping with the build/Tuning says I need to buy 2 of these widebands, 1 for each pipe. Is that completely necessary or will just one in the driver side be accurate enough? Thanks.
I would just keep it simple and put one on the driver side (left hand drive) bank, and call it a day. That side runs leaner and needs to be monitored more than the right side.
Multiple vendors make a dual in one gauge, I have dual sensors going into my haltech, but I'm only going to display one afr.

I plan on buying the one from Uprev's site. I just didnt want to buy 2 if it wasn't necessary. Thanks for the reply!
Totally unnecessary to buy two!
If it's an innovate wideband don't put it too close to the header, they have a tenancy to overheat there. (Says the guy who has his widebands on both headers lol)

You'll probably be fine. Just don't be surprised if the reading gets weird on long high gear pulls. Make sure you get a real tune by a good tuner and everything will be fine!

I would recommend avoiding that brand wideband. Its only advantage is for Uprev users, since you can log it in Osirus. If you dont plan on doing that, I would steer clear. Once it randomly decides, anywhere between 1 week and 2 years after install, to start giving you the E8 code, you have reached the end of the products lifespan.
My MTX-L was great for about a year. Now I have an "E8" gauge.

Pretty sure Uprev uses an LC-1 not an MTX-L. Unless they've expanded their compatibility lately or they are basically the same gauge. I know several people using LC-1 for years including myself (a friend bought his used) and no issues at all after recalibrating. It's also a very fast gauge, much faster than my old AEM.
MTX-L works with Uprev through its serial output also.
I also know a lot of people who have been lucky with Innovate widebands and I loved mine during its short lifespan. Unfortunately they have some sort of unreliable circuit or very common defect that leaves a lot of people not so fortunate.
It's not everyone, but its a lot of people. I'm pretty sure this might be why the forum was removed from innovates website. Just a quick google scan:
