Default My greddy twin turbo set up

Well coming from several force induction cars, Even though I told myself i was only gonna keep my Z stock with the exception of wheels, lowering springs and minor cosmetic mods. I found a deal on a partial greddy kit that I couldn't pass up. The kit consisted of just the manifolds, turbos, some oil lines, oil pan, and few charge pipes. So I had to track down everything else like BOV, wastegates, intercooler, fab the piping, injectors, etc
Luckily I have a close friend with a garage to drop out my engine

Pulling in to get started

wiring out, almost time for the drop out

unbolted down under and ready to set the engine/ trans on jack stands

Shes out!!!

putting on all the kit.... later realized I had the charge pipes coming out of the turbo outlet backwards

Dropping the car back on the engine and setting up the intercooler and piping

DONE!!!! at least till my exhaust comes in this week and install that, injectors and clutch and tune next week

interesting. glad to see you were able to salvage the kit.

do you think merging the turbo charge pipes so kuch sooner will have any negative effects? I belive the greddy kit uses a single core intercoolee but not sure if the air from each turbo combines until the outlet of the ic.

I would call it as a single core extruded tube...

and yes both ducts merge post-intercooler - I can only assume this was done to keep internal pressure losses to a minimum

The OP's looks also like a single core extruded tube style...I think there will have a little higher loss due to that junction - is it the end of the world?? I doubt it, the fabbed-up junction looks (relatively) smooth - just my 2cents...

That was a worry for my with joining the two turbo into a single inlet/ out let intercooler vs the dual inlet single outlet greddy provides but after checking out the power enterprise kit and playing around with some piping we got the merge to be pretty smooth... could I make more power with better piping and parts? I'm most positive I could but I have probably 1/4 of what a greddy kit cost in my set up and thats including an uprev license.... The way I look at it, it works, it makes a lot more power than it did, sounds great, i'm only one in town with a tt z33 and mainly it puts a huge smile on my face everytime I drive it

theoretical...how you have it fab'd and the single in single out intercooler is going to increase your pressure loss due to a slightly less efficient merge point and intercool setup.

But dont sweat it - keep moving forward with your build -

Don't worry about your piping stuff. Mine's retarded in comparison to even that. You get pressure loss and more lag with more piping/retarded piping but you can still make plenty of power.

I am fixing to pick up a very similar kit as well. I need to pick up BOV, intercooler kit, downpipes, and intakes and intake piping. What all did you go for on BOV and fmic?

Tial is a good one to go with. Most name brands will have enough spring pressure to work with what boost these turbos make on the vq

I went the cheap route with my intercooler set up, I ordered a bunch of steel U bends and J bends in 2" and 3" to build the piping, went that way cause I don't have a tig let alone never used one or welded aluminum so I went this way and ordered the biggest and thickest FMIC on ebay I could find that would fit behind my stock bumper. I contemplated going with the greddy FMIC but 2g's for that kit is way out of my budget plus I'm not looking to make tons of power, if I can get 350hp cool if I can reach 400+ even cooler. Only goal for this set up is to make at least 100 extra hp and not blow up.

you'll see 400 just fine, stay under a 450 on an OEM block. You're setup looks good. There are some minor inefficiencies with the intercooler but you're not looking to set records - a good tune and you're gonna be rolling!

Can I convince you to add an oil cooler?

I've entertained the idea of an oil cooler, Its on the list but for now I'm looking to get the clutch in and the car to the tuner for the time being.

You can do an oil cooler for under $200

There really is no excuse not to run one.
