Default VIDEO: Strange SES/MIL Flashing Pattern

I have had my 2003 Nissan 350ZSC in storage for the last 12 months. Today, I took it out for the first time in 3 months. This is what the SES/MIL was doing the first 10-15 minutes of driving. After that, I reset the ECU and reseated the gas cap. I had no codes. And now, it is running fine with no SES/MIL flashing either. Never seen this before. Any ideas?

IDK: Maybe just a weird Friday the 13th thing.

The pace of the flashing is odd. But typical, flashing SES means misfire.

Should have pulled the code/check the parameters with scantool first before reseting.

I wouldn't worry too much unless it comes back or you notice unusual idle/loss of power etc..

Like I said, there were no codes before I pulled the Z out of the garage. I wasn't sure when I last parked it, so that was the first thing I checked before the drive. There were no lights backing out of the driveway or pulling up in front of my house. Then, the ECU simply lost its friggin' mind!!!

After filming this, I came back and checked for codes again. Nothing. That's when a did a "soft reboot" (pedal reset) and reseated the cap - Justin Case.

I just got back from a full drive cycle, since my smog check was REJECTED.

I know...WTF did they start adding this extra bit of BS to the emissions testing? $14.00 and an hour of my time - while the retards at the testing station were looking under my hood for a distributor.

Anywho...the car seems to be running fine. No codes. No lights. No problems during my 30 mile trip to-ing and fro-ing. So, I'm still not sure what the hell that was all about. Oh, well...

Flash usually means misfire, but when it happened to me it was a steady flash during the misfire (only during acceleration or cruising) then solid CEL afterwards during decel, idle, ect. Your issue seems like an electrical gremlin because of the unsteady nature of the flash combined with no codes. Did any moisture penetrate the engine harness boot behind the battery (below the windshield) and above the ECM? Check all your engine grounds, battery terminals? Do you have anything aftermarket tapped in to the CAN bus (after market alarm system for example)?

I took it out for a "drive cycle" yesterday. Everything was fine.
I took it out again this morning to go get it smogged again.
No codes. No light. No loss of power either.

It PASSED

So, I still have no idea what it was doing or why.
Guess it was just a Friday the 13th thing after all.
