Default Any info on this YSI 700whp z33?

So I actually unwittingly called Church Auto the day after they tuned a 700whp vortech ysi 350z (asking about Haltech tuning) a while back. I expected for sure to see this thing float up on the internet somewhere (IE a forum), but maybe other California owners also like being low key...

BUT Vortech has this posted on their site:
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/page.php?id=43965

So here's my question. How no belt slip bro's?

I've seen everyone who posts about the YSI claim stuff about belt slip (not doubting or down talking anyone), but what did this guy figure out that no one else has? Big dyno corrections?

I'm curious what everyone else has to say about the YSI setup (as nobody here seems to have actually followed through on a built YSI setup yet).

Also note vortech has a 640whp G35... Also a bit peculiar.

And yes I saw "timrod's car" Hello Old Man, we meet again.

Or is the Rev Up Kit just uber?

I made over 600whp at 18 psi w my TI trim and currently holding 20-23psi prob around 630-640whp now (still see some slip depending on certain conditions) w Tims radius rod. Josh (meanz) is awaiting his ti trim and plans to spin it harder then I am w the 2.87 and also has 3 in piping so he may get close to that 700 marker without the Ysi.

Makes sense. I've only seen one vortech car, and it was well... Not in the car

If I was doing a vortech setup I'd also consider running a v1 Heavy Duty (I know this was discussed in the past). A bit cheaper than a YSI. Wonder what it could put out on a vq35.

I actually wonder why he isn't pushing the Ysi further. 700 w e85 and a Ysi IMO isn't impressive. I mean people have seen huge jumps from pump to corn with a few of us in the 600s on pump I think on e85 we may be right there w him and his Ysi. Would love to see him drop a pulley size or 2 and go for 800

Hello Resmarted,

How 26psi and no belt slip?

Answer: TimRod's Radius Rod Strut Kit.

The car has a stock 6 rib belt.

Of corse the pic on the Vortech site, the Radius Rod is not on the car.

Wow, check out this 350z on the Vortech Site. http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/page.php?id=44107

The V7 YSI-Trim is a Killer blower, with a new option of a Billet impeller will Flow about 1800cfm.

Vortech can now build a Special V2 in HD form. The V2 Ti-Trim only come in HD and is Rated @1400cfm.

If I built a Race motor with a V7 YSI-Trim, it would have a 10 Rib Pulley System.

I have a Friend doing just that, and it will have a Radius Rod on it too!

The YSI car on the Vortech site is a street, and I'd say is close to maxing out the 6 rib setup.

I think this G35 with 640whp is BS. It's pretty thou.

Why do I say that? Look at the Pulley Setup, it's the original 1st kit setup. This was the 1st thing I redesigned back in 2004. This would never hold 16psi. People can put what ever info they want. No Verification.

LOL

Well props to you man. Seems you dominate all the real HP vortechs out there. I'll be sending you a PM.

And yes I did recognize your car. Lol I can recognize a ton of Z's and G's based off their HP/setup. I'm a bit of a Geek and always love looking around the Net for my350z cars. The 11 second run was a dead give away too.

Thanks, I could not figure out how to update on the Vortech site, so I just made more.

Here are some Video's @ the track if you would like to watch.

OldManz350 is correct that the real trick to obtaining no slip at ~26psi is the TIMROD Rod Strut kit...its not on the car in the pic, but during the dyno the TIMROD was needed to obtain 26psi...also, the belt needs to be as tight as a b*tch..

Some other info on that car:
-Church dyno reads high, so the dynojet number for that car is probably closer to 650ish
-E85 Numbers were limited by maxing out MAF and 2 step colder plugs used for 91 gas tune...similar numbers came out of the 91 tune w/ meth...
-26psi is right at the limit of the 6 rib setup...anything more demands at least an 8 rib
