Default vortech and carbon hood

I was looking at getting a carbon hood from either vis or seibon and i have a couple questions about these hoods. I leave my car parked outside and was wondering if the rain will get to the air filter of the vortech, if it does would rerouting the filter behind the crash bar prevent this? Also do people notice lower IATs with a vented hood?

Yes, my filter would get wet with my seibon hood as the vents are directly above, but I never really drove in the rain as its a bit of a garage queen, I have rerouted the air intake above the intercooler now. As for air intake temps dont know, but your impeller will start oxidizing if its constantly wet as the filter is so close.

I have a seibon hood and am installing a vortech in a couple weeks. My hood does not have any kind of rain gutter on it so I plan to make one. Im relocating my filter so I'm not worried about that, i just want to protect my belts.

Ive had my vented hood on for about a year with no garage and haven't had any issues

are you relocating behind the crash bar or by the intercooler?
