Modifying the Stillen Supercharger (de)
Currently on the search for a used Stillen Supercharger, looking for a little more fun for my VQ35de (rebuilt with z1 stage 3 and a couple other extra goodies and high compression pistons)
outside of their pulley upgrades, has anyone ported their stillen? I know the SVT Cobra guys have done it, wanted to see if anyone here has done it.
Ideas
Larger fuel pump, larger injectors, ati harmonic dampener, ported blower, pulley upgrade, tensioner upgrade, larger intake upgrade 3.5"+
any information if any is welcome. Looking for about 400whp, yes I know I could get a vortech and be well over that but the stillen just has that crazy whine and I love it.

a portion of people that have been supercharged, built blocks and wanted more out of their systems have gone turbo...the sooner you see the light(especially with stillen) the better...
The worst thing that Stillen did was cap their system at 350hp to get a safe amount of extra hp out of a OEM block with no tuning solution, ATI gave you some fuel sliders and an extra pump and vortech put 2 and 2 together...
sell the blower and go turbo, especially with a built block...a turbo will get you well above 400whp and you can de-tune it to get your 400 and be happy -

You can find a used Vortech kit for $1500-1800. The stillen kit is trash and shouldn't be considered IMO. People are making like 330whp on a stillen kit. Vortech you could easily make 400 reliably. Save up the extra funds for a good kit.

If I could find a stillen under 2k I would have gotten one by now. AT MINIMUM ice seen 3k
Dont waist your time with the stillen and for porting it well thats just a waist on that tiny blower.Trust me i looked into almost every way possible to get more power and nothing was worth the expense in trying.
Don't waist your time and money on the Stillen kit.Not sure if you've thought about this but you can't use your oem hood with the kit. You'd have to buy the Stillen hood or something like it.
If you want a "whiny" sounding supercharger kit get a Procharger kit.
If you don't have the cash to buy a good kit, save your money until you can

^sounds like your mind is made up on stillens setup then ... procharger only whines around 1500 rpm...
do whatever you want, at the end of the day it's your car and your setup - plenty of people have told me I'm forked up...
you've just spent xyz amount of dollars on a stage 3/goodies but you don't want to spend another $2k to $5k to get the most out of the aforementioned built block?...I'm scared to ask what you intend to tune with, because if you think a turbo/vortech is expensive then you have a surprise coming when it's all said and done...
this comes to mind:

cheap, fast, reliable ...

Also what else would I need because I have every supporting mod imaginable before a FI system. I was planning on grabbing it next year but it seems I'm closer to getting one before intended.

First off I stated if I can acquire a stillen for cheap (literally 800 dollars), I would grab one. Otherwise I'd rather grab the vortech as you're able to push more psi and it puts better power out. However, I'm looking at perhaps modifying a SVT blower (2l) or GT500 blower (2.3l) and matching it to my block. The Stillen m62 is only 1l so it begins to push in hot air at around 6k RPM's. I would need to purchase a fuel return system if I do put a Vortech S/C in.

You don't need to buy a fuel return system if you buy a Vortech, I've seen folks on this page run 500hp with out it, on both S/C and turbo set ups...
I have seen this done, and to make it work he had to hack apart his hood, couldn't run a strut tower bar, and it was a nightmare to tune...
