Default Custom 3" turbo exhaust for SC??

I was wondering, everyone says that a custom 3" straight through exhaust is the best for a turbo cause it doesn't need backpressure, it needs the breathing more. I was wondering about an SC, I know the more breathing the better, I would assume at least a true dual would be nice. Although I don't know if a turbo straight through setup would be best for an SC also.

Does an SC need backpressure?? What kind of exhaust is best for an SC?? I assume at least a true dual, which exhaust would sound the best?? I know a straight through sounds great with a turbo, but what about an SC?? Thoughts??

my opinion is that true dual's are for aesthetic reasons only on the VQ... i may be a little biased becuase I converted to single exhaust but i'm more for function over form.

Oh and to answer your question about 3". Turbo's need less restritive exhausts for obvious reasons.. the turbos create all the backpressure the engine would need, the bigger the exhaust the faster air can exit and the faster the turbine can spool up. With S/C however I stuck with a 2.5" diameter on my piping...

Anyone else have thoughts on this subject??

Thanks for your thoughts narkotic, can't see myself going with a single outlet exhaust at all, but to each is own.

well look at it this way. the turbo is hooked to the exhaust wich causes a back up of gasses ,= back pressure.

the super charger is before the the exhaust. while the supercharger is in essenc doing what the turbo is doing (forcing air into the combustion chamber) there is no block to creat back pressure, and that forced air on a supercharged vehicle is even moving faster in wich ads to the lack of back pressure.

with a supercharged vehicle i would go y-pipe to help in the back pressure , and a turbo vehicle dual cause it makes its own back pressure and needs the gases to exit so it can do its job.

if you look at all the car manafactures (i know i spelled it wrong) they go by that for the most part too.
