F/I Help.
I'm considering going F/I with my 03 350z. Currently it has C.A.I, kinetix manifold, DC headers, z1 test pipes and a true dual catback. Someone in my area is selling a vortech v3 supercharger and I'm considering picking it up. What do you guys think of 1000cc injectors with upgraded rails, eagle rods and the vortech v3 s.c.? Would I need anything else? Is the injector size too big? I'm not too educated on f/I, especially superchargers. Any help/recommendations would be helpful. I'm mostly wondering if the setup I described earlier would work(correct v3, 1000cc injectors, and eagle rods)
also if upgrading rods should I do piston heads too?

what do you want out of this car?
If you want 400whp than buy the blower, the 1000cc injectors/rails, and a few other parts.
If you want 500whp than look into internal engine components - but it will be expensive to do it right.
If you're not sure how far you want to take the car than just do the blower with an otherwise OEM setup (you may need bigger injectors). Read, research, plan and save cash - when you want more power you can upgrade your engine internals and add the other supporting mods.
Read what other turbo and supercharger guys have done to get the numbers they've gotten - mimic what theyve done, learn from their mistakes, and dont reinvent the wheel!
If you buy a used blower plan on having it inspected and reconditioned (maybe $300 - $500) you can ask the seller to cover a portion of this cost ... i.e. have him take it off the sale price. What does he want for the setup? Is it a kit? is it complete?

Can you pay cash?
If youre ready to immerse yourself into the FI world than buy it. Plan on buying bigger injectors - as low as 600cc if you dont want bigger ones day one, an oil cooler, you'll need a tuning solution such as osiris or haltech, and a whole bunch of stuff I'm forgetting...

with the least amount of sarcasm, read some of the stickies posted here regarding forced induction. There is a plethora of data available just by typing "350z forced induction" into google. However, one thing you did not mention include:
fuel pump
tuning (standalone? ECU Reflash?)
and mileage. Not saying that you can't boost a high mileage motor, but if you're not the first owner, you may want to make sure the motor is still healthy (leakdown test, compression test..basic maintenance etc).
I've owned my car for 10 years; it took me 8 years to FINALLY bite the bullet, but thats because I was looking at a lot of threads and information. As Bealjk mentioned, make sure you thoroughly READ and UNDERSTAND the information within the FI Forums to make sure you understand the pros and cons of what you're getting into.
