Default Closed block ?

Hey I was wondering if the VQ35 has a closed deck like that of a 2jzgte or is it open like most of the hondas out their ? Has anyone ever drivetrain failures ? If so what power were you putting out ?

Also one more question, if a greddy tt consists of a e-manage, and fuel injectors, what else will be needed besides a boost controller and a reflashed ECU ? I'm sorry I would search for most of this but when I try to search some stupid page pops up, thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, it is an open-deck block. Here's a pic I found somewhere on this site:

If it were my TT kit, I'd go to some sort of stand-alone EMS and add an in-tank fuel pump. You can't go wrong with more fuel.

Yes....there are a couple of guys on the board who have had their blocks done already within the last 6 months.

the mere fact that it is open deck may or not mean anything quite frankly. Plenty of cars can be made quite powerful with an open deck setup, though it obviously varies by application. The big thing with this car is you are simply not going to see truly high HP 350Z's due the limitations of the heads.

While closed deck is clearly superior, in this particular case, it may not amount to much of a benefit

People are pushing 400+whp on Maximas, so I think sleeve aren't needed. Open deck is lighter, has superior cooling, so it's not neccessarily a bad thing. And you can always do block posting to reinforce the stock sleeves.
