Default Ignition/Boost retard...

Ok, I've read some of the other technical information here and seen ATI's post about detonations at higher boost levels. Don't know what's available for the Z, MSD makes several digital type ignition systems as well as boost timing control module. Don't know if these will work with the Z, but if it would or if there's a similar product out there you could retard the timing as boost increases and hopefully prevent the detonation problem.

Similar applications can be done through MSD boxes for Nitrous run regular timing when you're NA and when you spray send a 12v signal when the system is switched on and automatically retard the timing.

Just wondering if anyone has tried anything like that. Also I've seen the high compression piston kits, does anyone know if there's a dished piston kit to lower the compression? Could help all the boosted guys.

I'm using the J&S safeguard to retard timing. It's based on boost and RPM.

I also heard the MSD ignition systems can help remove the fuel cut off and TCS problems. Anyone know more about this?

I don't see how that's possible seeing as how the fuel cutoff is controlled by the ECU. Not trying to be sarcastic, it's just that the ignition and fuel systems are two separate things entirely.

BTW, what TCS problems are you referring to exactly? Haven't heard of any issues, but maybe I missed a thread here, haven't been reading this forum a lot lately.

I just had a MSD Dis2 ignition die on me after only 3 months of use. It's safe to say I will never use another msd product.

The Greddy E-manage can't pull timing in relation to boost among other things...
