Turbo Solution
I've seen many people debating whether the PE kit or Greddy kit is superior. Both kits have their pro's and con's. I think a good solution is to bring the idea to someone telling them how to combine both the kits to make a far superior kit than the rest. Using the Greddy style cast manifolds, Ball-Bearing turbos with external wastegate, ARC intercooler like PE kit, and have fuel management and stuff controlled by a similar style E-manage. It would be great to have NISMO produce the kit on our Z and sell a limited edition from the factory. Let me know if you agree and feel free to correct or make any changes

I was in JWT today (5/7) and talked with Ben. He said they are focusing on the CARB cert for the G35 right now, and will start working on the details for the Z kit after that.
Basically it sounded like they were going to use the approved G35 kit and modifiy it to fit the Z. Makes sense, and will probably be an eaiser sell to CARB.
He specifically mentioned having to redo the intercooler to work with the Z facia. They needed to figure out how to bring the two sides to a single IC.
Yup, the JWT looks compelling. But they need to bring the price down to line up with the Greddy and PE kits. The market has spoken...and very few people are willing to pay $7000 or more for a TT kit...regardless of good the quality is. If the price is over $7000, I think they will have trouble selling them in significant quantity.
My thoughts are this. No kit is perfect, but I'd rather have 95% of the pieces, and then upgrade as I see fit. Some people wanna stay at 5-6psi, and all the kits are fine out of the box for that. But there are certainly extras that would make the kits even better. Consider the kit as just the starting point....not the final word.
Also, dont believe all the hype surrounding BB turbos. Yes, theoretically, they spool up faster, last longer...blah..blah..blah. But the most important thing is how they are sized up and matched against the engine. In terms of longevity...that is the last of my worries. All the tubos can last 100K miles with proper cool down and warm up techniques.
The greddy kit with its large conventional turbos, still have virtually no turbo lag at all. I have full boost at 2500rpm in 5th gear. And with the Z's natural torque down low...the power is instaneously at any RPM.

I only say i don't like the I/C set up because i've seen it on the G35. The two I/C set up doesnt look very appealing to me and i was hoping that they could make it into a single kit. Another thing is ... I'm am very picky about the stuff I buy. I would never buy something produced in America unless it is far superior than most of the japanese products. Thats just the way i do it and some of you guys really dont care who makes it.
