Any one with vortech S/C check your R4 aux fuel pump settings I left mine at the factory settings of 0 PSI and 1000 Rpm . When either is reached pump comes on , in stop and go driving pump turns on and off every time you go over or under this RPM . I can hear the relay clicking on and of all the time as my box is inside the car on the firewall. As you know it woun't take long to wear out the relay or pump like this or both! I'm not sure if I should set it to 500 RPM or 3000 RPM ? At 500 it will run all the time at 3000 it may still turn on and off alot during stop and go driving but will remain off during cruising.

 

I have mine set to "Over 3000 rpms and Over 2.5 psi".

Zimbo.....have you had any Problems at all at WOT with them settings ? I was thinking of going that high with mine but wasnt sure .Didnt know if stock fuel pump would keep up at 2.5 psi . Them setting would sure save on wear and tear on the relay and the 2nd pump

 

I haven't had any problems at all--but keep in mind that you cannot change the on/off setting for the aux pump without altering the fuel map to compensate.

What would the on off settings have to do with the fuel map its self ? We didnt change anything that low in the rpm or psi range

 

Well, I'd have to go test this again, but suppose you have the aux pump set to turn on at 2000 rpms and then you change it so it doesn't come on until 3000 rpms. From 2000 to 3000 rpms you're not going to have as much fuel as you did before, right?

Im not sure correct me if Im wrong...but dont the fuel pumps run into the FMU and the FMU keeps the fuel pressure steady to the fuel rail ? If so...the stock fuel pump should keep enough fuel pressure to run up to 2 or 3 psi of boost
