Exclamation TT Problems -- Help

If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. I have a Greddy TT kit with an E01.

Background (Short Version):

I had my tranny replaced at a Nissan dealership.

Issue:

After I picked up the car, I can no longer control boost; I am over-boosting. Manual mode, automatic mode....it doesn't matter. I have no control boost whatsoever.

I really don't trust Nissan and they said they do not know what to do to fix the issue.

Are there some things that I can look at to diagnose and fix the issue? Somethings that I can do to at least get in the ballpark of the issue.

Help appreciated.

Matthew

You sure the E01 is still even picking up your boost?

i.e. sure they didn't disconnect it somehow?

How bad is the over boost? The waste gates are right next to the transmisson mount bolts. If the over boost is bad they probably disconnected the vac lines. The Nissan mechcanic was probably wondering what the pretty blue things were. Crawl under the car and look to see if the vac lines are connected to the waste gate nipples.

Yup...they have to remove the wastegates to remove the tranny. The vaccum lines on the wastegate would be my first suspect.

Check wastegate blue vacumm line. If it's plug in and still boosting erratic. Turn off the E-01 to see if that is the culprit.

Thanks for all the replies, they helped.

Yes they replaced my tranny under warranty.

The issue was for some reason the unhooked the vac lines to my E01.....when they plugged it back in they flip flopped them.

Took Z1 Motorsports in Atlanta 2 minutes to figure it out.

wait a minute, they replaced ur tranny under warranty even thouhg u have the TT? How did u convince them to do so? Unless you somehow told them that the trannys have been coming out defective and they checked that the cause of the problem was not by the TT, I would love to hear how u convinced them.

dealers here in dallas replace trannys on FI'd cars.
reason...? well they said "the tranny has problems... adding power is not the culprit to so many failures..."

now, this ONLY applies to the grinding, etc. that is a known problem... if you walked in there with a TT car, and there was a hole in the side of the tranny... you would have to pay.

Some how I managed to talk to the service rep. a the nissan dealer. I believe he used to be a mechanic and now he is the head or chief of service. Well back to the point. he said he will keep my warranty on my car. He even made a document and signed got approval by head mechanic , so that i could keep my warranty.

Hope this helps

I really didn't convience anyone, I said that my tranny needed to be replaced. At first they said it was my TT install, but I reminded them of the issues with the 03 tranny and asked for more detail as to why the thought fi would cause the issue....they weren't sure.

The key is not to get excited, and just state the facts....take emotion out of it (that will scare the sh*t out of people). Build a relationship with them (prior to your tt install) and keep them (service manager) involved in all your decision making processes....make them feel like they own your car. I talked with my service manager prior to TT install, so he was always informed on what I was doing.

Thats tranny number 3, and there may be a 4 as I am still getting some noise from the tranny. I have not decided yet if I am going to ask them to install another or not...I have it at Z1 Motorsports of Atlanta (great guys just like my dealer) right now, they will tell me which call I need to make. I already called my dealer and gave him the heads up.

I really hope they don't have to install another trans. My dealer is great, but they don't know crap about my tt, and I always need to take it to Z1 the day after so they can clean up the dealer's tranny install.

Nissan dealers get yelled at all day long, be nice to them (while staying firm) and they will be nice to you. -- Your mileage may vary.

Just need to be careful and have your car checked out for an hour after the tranny install. Z1 and I go through my car after tranny install, and discover issues.
