Default Vortech track time!disapointing.

Ok I was running a 50 shot of n2o and getting times between 13.4 and 13.6.Now 50 plus an estimated stock 240hp should put me around 280 or 290 at the wheels.I have the vortech now and just had it tuned putting down 335hp and 302 tq on a loaded dyno.Went to the track and ran a 14.025.This is starting to **** me off.

some info:
I did notice tonight that my boost gauge is only hitting about 7psi at red line.

Also here is my time slip:

r/t .576
60' 2.290
330 6.095
1/8 9.185
mph 79.99
1000 11.807
1/4 14.025
mph 101.12

Even with 7 psi though I should be running better than stock .

That is very poor. My first time to the track with my ATI kit boosting 7PSI was a 13.1@105.

Yes, I have a 5AT also.

I'm not so sure that wheelspin is the only problem- the 60 foot time is a little weak, though. However, that MPH is tell-tale. That MPH is about right for the ET. So, I would think that maybe something else is up- tuning-wise possibly.... 335rwhp should be pulling a bit more MPH than that.

Keep working on it- you'll get it! Good luck...

I did a 13.2 @ 105 with 7 lb.....Coletta...you never did tell us exactly what the tuner did to the FMU settings to get your car to shift in auto at WOT...please tell me...I tuned my 9lb pulley and mine will not shift at all now in auto at WOT

I still dont understand I have a old time slip where I ran a 14.2 and my mph was only 87.5 so with over 13 mph more I would think I would get better #'S.

I have'nt got a chance to ask him exactly what he did but like I had mentioned before he said he had to mess with the psi settings on the fuel pressure in the ss box. I think it is in the setting menu.I will get more info asap.It just puzzles me because I can definatly feel the power differance in the car it pulls alot harder than stock and I am definatly getting at least 7 psi I should at least be in the low 13's.

hell i went to the track and ran 15.1 and 14.9 with my vortech, tuned at 350, a friend went with his G, with only an injen cai, i barely beat him, although it was my first runs ever, and it was a brand new track, no rubber, on bald street tires, and i spun completely thru 3rd. i was very disappointed.

Yea but you have a 6mt there is alot more room for eror there with an auto you just punch it and go,plus my reaction time was good. But I only got a chance to do 1 run and I did it in auto mode.I just figured in auto or manual this car should be doing low 13's given the hp and torque.

You need tires. I did a 13.5 N/A w/o a 50 shot w/ tires.

Coletta, I am not sure what model you have. If you have a base, you could be seriously suffering from a lack of an LSD. Or, you have have toasted the stock viscous LSD so that it is not locking as well. Hence, you might as well not have one. In any case, it is a possibility. Just thought I would throw that out. Good luck.

I have the enthusist but what I am trying to figure out is?
Is my launch bad?
Do you think it is wheel spin?
Is there anything that explains why 340hp is yeilding a 14.025?
I figure I should be in the low 13's even a very high 12 is there that much room (1 sec) in driver eror on a auto?
